It’s easy enough to provide commentary during a short, action packed race. But the level of entertainment provided in this slowly progressing and somewhat confusing boat derby here, (even though we never get to see who won the race 😏) requires real talent! I can’t WAIT to see how the pedal-powered pontoon boat relay turns out!! 🤣

it's half the problem with people cutting corners on the channel, but I witnessed 5 sailboats come aground WITHIN a channel. On Chesapeake Bay, if the wind is from the North, the water get's pushed out to sea, and a 6-foot deep channel becomes a 4-foot deep channel. Lucky for me, I had a swing keel...

a 12v portable "cooler style" winch, universally setup, is so helpful.... even those you can hook up a 3s liPo 10000mah battery, such a life saver...hook that up to an anchor, drag yourself off a sandbar...hook that up at the dock , drag a 80k$ truck off the launch

You guys should try getting a 360 degree camera, and set it on a tall tripod over heads constantly recording. This way if something happens in any direction, you will have it on video, and while the resolution won't be the same as optical zoom, at least there will be context for some of the things missed. You can also turn it into a time lapse, with the ability to pan and zoom in the time-lapse etc. (using the "reframing capability of the software, basically pointing a" virtual camera" anywhere in the photosphere in Post) It would be great for getting sandbar shots and dock shots while the camera is zoomed elsewhere. Putting a dedicated camera pointing each direction is also a good idea, but a 360 might be easier to use and manage.

Here's a sincere question. Are there signs warning about the sandbar beside channel markers? Are the channel markers adequate for boaters new to the area? Yes, we should learn how to read the water but beginners haven't learned that yet? BTW, if the Darcizzle professional crew landed on it, there's more to this bar than meets the eye. Maybe the currents change the size and shape of bar?
@TristanMolina3 жыл бұрын
MFD charting shows the sandbars there. There are also channel markers that go out but not all the way out to the channel. There is a channel marker out there so if you stay straight till you get out there you’re good. Also, if you’re a local around here like they are you know about those sandbars at low tide. The pilot of the boat just wasn’t paying attention and cut it right too early. Happens to the best of us. Its easy for folks to comment when you’re on shore filming for likes and not actually boating. Also, I wouldn’t say their crew is “professional”. They’re just boaters/fisher folks with a cam and youtube channel just like this one.
