I have seen this comment made on a bunch of the videos so I will relay it here. Even though it is a legal/binding judgment I think a lot of people don't see it as real court and they just see it as TV so they don't take it seriously. Especially when you as a defendant know that the show is going to pay whatever you owe to the plaintiff and you're gonna get money on top of that just for appearing.

A good thing to me is that the judge specializes in home renovations. Her family is construction workers, her father, and other family members, so she grew up knowing the ends and out, and that would entitle hard to be certified in that area. Her judgment was right on to me a specially when she used what the paid lawyer had scrutinized as far as out of pocket money and what was doing it was all fair. The problem is as the lady was "left holding the bag." He might not have bailed had she not given all that money upfront. You have to string them along because they're going to line you ahead.

Plaintiff is very lucky and fortunate she didn’t lose much more. In comparison to other contractors, who would have really taken advantage of her, this contractor did a good job. She will realize that after hiring other contractors, and see how they work, then she will really regret losing the defendant. For most contractors, once you pay them, the money is gone. Even if you go to court and get a judgement, how are you going to collect? If you do find a good worker, be sure to be extra nice to him. They are very sensitive, and will quit in a heartbeat .

I think the defendant does not have fluent English which hindered him from explaining...as well as understanding the questions from Judge Milian. No, I am phone with contractors you have to pay according to bullet points they’re adding an addition to your house they get 10% one the foundation it says another 10% when the foundation is port another 10% when the walls are put in and they get a they get paid according to projects when the project is complete and approved and signed off by the city that’s how they get paid otherwise the homeowner should get taken advantage of same thing with mechanics and what not because at the end of the day, you don’t know whether you’re dealing with somebody is truly honest and a hard worker somebody just looking to scam you and take it vantage

Why is she so pissed? People don’t understand that they come to court to be made “whole”…..She got her 16k back. Also why would she show the $800.00 estimate and not just the one for $2000.00

They really don't understand. They get mad, and they want 1) somebody to pay them for their feelings being hurt and 2) the other person to suffer for making them mad. They aren't really looking to be made whole. What they want a lot of the time is vengeance.

I am not from the US. To me the word 'apartment ' is just a generalised term. I didn't know that it is the word for a unit that you do not own.
