I've noticed this video has started picking up a few more natural views from the Algorithm, so I'll say if you really enjoyed the video, a like and a comment would go a long way to help this reach more people, I think I forgot to mention it in the video itself :) PS: new video soon :o

You have to make a part 2 but dont cover all the history in one go maybe do 2009 to 2019 and then next 2010 to 2011.

I was so surprised to hear that Notch made Wurm

Oh, what's that? The best Minecraft KZbinr under the 100k is about to upload a new documentary? Can't wait for it to release!
@RandomSageless7 ай бұрын
Technically this isn't a Minecraft Video! In case anyone wonders why I didn't mention the incendiary comments Notch made a few years back, it felt out of place to talk about over a decade prior to any of it happening. I'll probably make a video if we ever get around to it, but ultimately I think the moral of that story is that twitter is garbage and will rot your brain lmao. This is the most time I've ever put into a video, and I hope you liked it! Personally I deeply dislike how the final Wurm chapter turned out, ended up relying on a single source and just didn't have the time to add a whole lot of nuance or depth. There's a lot of other minor issues and what not but hopefully the video is ~90%+ accurate. If you did really enjoy the video, leaving a like or comment will help push the algorithm to show the video to more people. If you really wanna, also consider supporting the channel on Patreon: www.patreon.com/randomsageless Oh and join my Discord here to participate in acting or just to hang out: discord.gg/EtvkZwVJ8U

glad you mentioned daggerfall, i really feel like arena and daggerfall are games that notch got inspired to make minecraft. arena have procedural generation but i think the chunks were created manually. im also inspired on daggerfall quite a lot to make one of my games and tbh i think they are important and underrated classics, i hope there be more fans of this game.

Notch is similar to Scott Cawthon in a lot of ways, multiple failed titles and then on game that sky rocketed them to success.
@RandomSageless7 ай бұрын
I think there's a big difference in that as far as I know, Notch only really considered wurm to be the closest to what he'd call a failure, he very rarely actually finished a game, and even when he did they were usually for small competions where he wouldn't expect a whole lot of success regardless. He was also seen as a pretty talented game developer within the java indie space, while Scott Cawthon got a lot of criticism and ridicule iirc.

Gonna be real with you, even if I was the best programmer I'd still have terrible opinions about how Java is the greatest programming language solely because I played a random block game written in it as a kid.

I thought that you were gonna rickroll us for a minute but you turned that into a segway into an ad. That had no right to make me laugh as much as it did. 10/10 the best part of the video. Also the part where you seemed like you were going to transition into a sponsorship but didn't. That would be the second best part of the video, for sure.
