Go lightly is the nastiest stuff on earth. It tasted like fish to me, and I had to to fight gagging and vomiting the whole time (I lost a couple of times). I wish you the best with your experience.

I knew a nurse who worked in endoscopy, primarily in the recovery room post-colonoscopies. She told me the staff all refer to it as the “fart room.”

As I was coming back from anesthesia, I heard my mom ask when I would be able to leave. The nurse replied that i would need to be alert enough to dress myself, walk, and pass gas. I was barely conscious but immediately fired off a booming cannon. The nurse quickly said , "Well, that's one.down. I'll be back when she wakes a bit more... and started laughing on her way out the door! 😂😂😂

@@sherristeele7267 I’m unusually tolerant of sedation meds given during colonoscopies, gastroscopies, and even dentistry, and I’m always awake and fully alert long before everyone else. I’m on my second popsicle and chatting with staff, while the cacophony of farts around me plays on. 😉

28 and just had my first colonoscopy about a month and a half ago. I was fortunate enough to have a "DIY" prep of a bottle of Miralax mixed with any clear liquid of my choice. From what I've heard of Golytely and similar preps, mine was much more "gentle". Still slept on my bathroom floor that night though 🤣😂😅

I agree also, by far and away, the worst part of a colonoscopy is the cleansing prep. I've never been so out of control of my body as I was on my brother's poor toilet that day. IT WAS TRANSPARENT by the time I was done. MY POOP WAS CLEAR ENOUGH TO DRINK!

I called the Go Lytely corpse tears, and made every family member try it. The colonoscopy was inconclusive. Was punished by having to take it again 2 weeks later - for a barium enema. The hospital staff hasn't gotten over the recovery, I locked myself in the only room with a bathtub and commode next to it. For 6 hours. With cigarettes, loud music and alcohol... and loudly shouted curses for anyone that dared to knock...the staff tells the legend in hushed tones to this day😂

I did mine a few months ago with Golytely. I put a crystal light pack in my water bottle each time and it wasn't that bad actually.

Went in for my first colonoscopy, after drinking the prep solution. The full gallon of it. And it came with a "flavor packet" to "improve the taste." Lemon. It tasted like liquid death ... with a refreshing lemon tinge that you barely notice. So they get me in, and I lay down on the table. They have me turn on my left side. Then tell me to bring my right leg over so the knee is touching over to my left. I hear the nurse say "hey, did you start the sedation already? we weren't ready for him to be asleep yet" I explain I'm awake, but just resting comfortably. (I was extremely sleep deprived.)

After the ordeal, I woke up in a hospital bed where there were 3 other fellas to my right in their hospital beds that had their colonoscopys as well. When the nurse told me that I could leave as soon as I past gas, I let a deafening loud one rip, and the guy at the opposite end on his bed raised his head and in a weak voice said, ""I sure wish I could do that." 🤣

My colonoscopy was done with no sedation- it was the most painful experience I’ve experienced in my life. Asked/ told the doctor to stop many times but he just kept ramming the camera up into me. I almost jumped off the guerney and knocked him out

I'm pretty sure that explosive bowel movements are really healthy for people with gastric distress. Is it any wonder that colonoscopies run the risk of, uhh, intestinal perforation? After the trauma caused by the "preparation" I'm shocked-shocked I tell you...

Still confounds me when it comes to Americans and their need to be put under for a colonoscopy. Done my fair share of'em, and was wide awake every time. Guess that's one of the big differences between the U.S and Norway; the healthcare system

@JimAllen-Persona have had an endoscopy aswell, awake for that too. Wasn't comfortable (colonoscopies were pleaseant in comparison 🤣), just had a numbing spray to the back of my throat. My guess is, having an anastheziologist put a patient completely under is a risk in it's own right, so our health department don't want to involve them unless absolutely necessary, like invasive surgery (which colonoscopies aren't) And yes, those explosive BMs and excessive gas during prep that (especially) comedians keep talking about, never experienced that either.

This reminds me of 1980s comedy thats ... not so good. The transition between stories... i even feel like the audience is seeing laugh prompts. This guy has potential... but this needs work!!!!!!!!
