@@harvivekdhindsa6809 It looks nice, and it seems as a great phone. I'm just being practical. I almost never put my phone laying on the table with the back facing me. That's why I'm not interested in it. And unfortunately, it would be a bigger financial strain on my budget, than some other options. If this phone does good, it means Nothing has come up with a nice niche product. Good job for them!

As I've said many times, IF Karl Pei/Nothing would make the Nothing phone with LEDs mounted in the bezels (around the screen), either a full loop around, or even 'L's on each corner, then HELL YES I WOULD buy that phone! If you've watched Zacks video (JerryRigEverything) on teardowns/or even that time he counted each of the LEDs, you'll see that each of the LEDS are mounted in a THIN 2 LED wide and however many long, per strip. So, mounting a 1 LED by however many long COULD be done because that LED strip WOULD be THINNER! The reason why I ask/suggest this mod is because... 1 - I ALWAYS use a tough case (which covers the back entirely), and, 2 - I N E V E R place my phone face down, EVER. Yes I have a tempered glass screen protector fitted as well as the case (hence after a good 2, 3 or even 4 years of use, my phones physical condition are always, well, mint. So having a very thin strip of addressable LEDs all around the front screen (it IS possible to do), or, if not all around the screen 'L' shape on each corner COULD VERY WELL be used in the same manner - Count down timer, notifications, Uber arrival time, Charging % status and many more manufacturer/software developer ideas abound! PLUS, for those (I don't), that do a lot of selfies/front camera video recording, it could be also used for a ring lighting for videos! So COME ON NOTHING! PLEASE think about it! There are a lot of us out here that WOULD LOVE a feature like this! Especially for the masses out there that DO put cases on their phones and don't like laying their phones face down, and want a SIMPLE solution to lighting whilst takingselfies/videos etc! 🤞 I HOPE Nothing DOES this in a future version like the Nothing Phone 3 or 4 etc! 🤞 😎🇬🇧

@@TheMrMobile I think trying to convince him right now is pointless. You are in a bad time to argue this. His current company barely made two phones and just now trying to launch more world-wide. How can he waste recourses on making a foldable? Even if he wanted to make one it makes no financial sense to make one at the moment. A foldable right now will be a huge investment for a very limited audience that will be even more limited for Nothing since they will have a hard time keeping cost down. This means their foldable will end up expensive and selling very little.

I love these phones' aesthetics. While I'm all aboard the foldable bandwagon, this would be an easy pick if I ever went back to slab phones. I'm so tired of technology that follows the Apple model of being sleek, friendly, and looking as little like technology as possible. Something like this that is so unabashedly technological? It's the sort of aesthetic design that I love. And I hope we can see more like it.

The glyphs are cool and it serves as a reminder of the long lost notification lights that use to adorn most Android phones. I guess phone makers realized that having people looks at their phones more often was to their advantage but it used to be nice to see a green flashing light for a new SMS, a red flashing light because a call was missed etc.

So yeah... except for weird iphone looks it has little offer. But I'm surprised that Uber does work with that glyph(has some contacts)- but I have all the doubts any1 else gonna jump on it-too niche to waste time imo.

It's just that the Glyphs draw a lot of power appareantly and only really do something if you put your phone on the display. So you either have this or an AOD that simply does the same job better, with more information and less power draw, especially if your phone has an LTPO panel.

I personally think the Ultra Zoom and SPens are never _too much_ . I travelled the east coast of Australia and found the 10x optical zoom (and 30x hybrid) of the S23 Ultra amazing. Most wildlife photographers agree that 10x - 30x zoom is the most optimal zoom for wildlife and nature photography. When you're starting at 10x optical zoom on a phone when you don't have your DSLR with you, you can take some incredible shots that are otherwise impossible on a phone without it!...to the point that iPhone users were asking us to take a lot of their shots in some of our groups. The SPen made editing those amazing photos easy on the go as well!

Flashing lights have been around for well over a decade. On BlackBerry’s you could actually adjust the color of the front facing light to determine if it was an urgent notification or not and control which types of notifications would give you that colored dot. I wish current smartphone manufacturers would incorporate the notifications more frequently. As with any forked android flavor…how is file management on it??

Since then, Android has just been boring to me with exception of the Pixel line. I’m waiting on Nothing Phone 3 to get announced before making the switch back. 2A looks great too, but I’m really hoping they go with the most current Snapdragon chip available for Phone 3.

The tough part for me at this $700 price point or so is that I can find some really crazy values for pixels on the resale Market. $150 for 6a, $225 for 6 $300 for p6 pro.. Those still have like 38-42 months of security patches left. And you could basically get all three of them for the price of a Zenfone 9 or a nothing phone 2, s23+ or for that matter a pixel 7 Pro. Nonetheless I'm especially excited to see the Zenfone 10 and the nothing phone to both available to Americans. It will be interesting to see their resale value in 9 to 12 months.

Love that Michael focuses so much on fun. Yeah, sometimes some features don't make the most financial sense, but those little quirky joyful things some products bring just make life so much more cheerful.

Well, minus the glyphs on the back panel, this phone looks identical to an iPhone 12. So I don’t know why Nothing would base their so called unique design language on an Apple product. It is bizarre. With their second phone, the fantastic price advantage they had over other Androids has also evaporated. I am a bit puzzled by Mr Mobile’s resounding endorsement.

Same here. He's oddly positive and brushed off issues like nothing. That's not how he reviews other products. Looks like Nothing Pei's well.

@@pixels_per_inch bro this company is just a start up, the reason he brushed off issues like this is because they don’t have as much money as the bigger companies to really remove all of these issues.

Why anyone would actually prefer a forced auto-night mode for every fucking shot, I have no idea. Loved the fact about the NP1 that I could actually take a dark photo that I wanted to be dark! Oh nooo, gotta go to pro mode with other phones to do that. Like 7:55 the guys at the coffee shop, the dark photo is a photo worth existing, while the other one, what the hell is it?

I like the idea of the lights but I don't understand why they're arranged in such an odd way. It makes it look like an afterthought, I think it would look a lot better if they conformed to a shape. Like this it looks like something the owner put on aftermarket.

The RAZR+ is the most interesting thing to happen in the mobile phone scenario in years, I can't see a relevant reason to buy one of these candy bar form phones other than to replace a damaged phone.

I'd LOVE to get a Phone (2), because my Pixel 6 Pro's bugs are getting annoying, though truth be told, they've always been annoying, and they've only gotten worse as time's gone on. Unfortunately due to my current financial situation, I can't afford to get a new phone, even something that'll just hold me over for a bit, even as my Pixel's been breaking down in the software department. I'll try to go home, and whatever app I had open will just stick to the screen, as if I'm holding the animation. It'll continue responding to touch as if the app was still fullscreen and open. I just have to suck it up and deal with it, as, because I was homeless for a while, I couldn't afford to pay my phone (Google Fi) bill, and my service got canceled. I'm working towards getting a job, though where I'm at I'll have better luck just working remote

Nice review, thank you. For me I have gotten so bored with the same old same old of current metal and glass soulless slabs I am really looking hard at the Nothing 2. I grew up when manufacturers actually competed to make phones look unique and fun. And yes, I have owned almost every phone in your 'When phones were fun' series. So I will probably pick up one of the phones just for fun and uniqueness, who knows hopefully if enough sell perhaps it will kick off a trend (he a person can dream). Oh and seeing you on Topsail Island was also a kickback to my younger days. I spent my entire summer vacations from the age of 6 to 19 either on Topsail or next door at Surf City (back in the 70's) and a couple of weeks in the late fall fishing of the numerous piers there at the time.

Ah, Nothing. I think if they had come around before foldables were fully established, I think it would have been more of a splash for the industry as a whole. The Nothing Phone 1 was already a delightful design and the 2 really fleshes it out a bit more, although the “interface” in Glyph Interface is arguably lacking. But it’s nice that the software design is more defined this time around. I hope one day Nothing can afford to make a foldable. But even your candy bar phone reviews are a joy.
