I really admire you. I don't think I would have the guts. I'm so glad you are keeping your cats. I used to volunteer in animal rescue. You wouldn't believe how many people leave them behind. I'll look forward to your updates.

Thank you! I don't think I am being brave or having courage - I feel I need to do this before I die, or I will regret it big time and I don't want to have any more regrets. I just made the decision and now am running with it!! I used to volunteer as well - that is where all my cats have come from, shelters! Never give them up!

I moved to South Korea at age 40 by myself to teach English to elementary students, and it was the best 4 years of my life! I’m back in the US now after taking care of some family business. Now I need to decide where to go next 😆 I thought I was limited because of my beloved paw child 🐈 who I am not leaving behind ~ but you have inspired me!

That sounds like it was so amazing!! Yes, it is actually pretty easy to bring your pets with you - just do the research on requirements. Some dog breeds are restricted for entering certain countries and most don't like Persian cats to fly because of short nasal airways. Other than that, it is all good!

So things are going smooth! You said you've worked since a teenager--no wonder you're ready for a break. I took a break from working full-time several years ago as I got tired of office work, my pocketbook suffered but I was happier, I worked part-time temporary jobs that were more physical so it was good for me. Oh, about the Fla bugs....my theory as to why you don't see them spattered on windshield is because the bugs there are the "crawly-kind" not the flying kind. In the west here there are many moths but not the cicada problem that's supposed to happen this summer.
@halstonandharleys6 ай бұрын
Well, not 100% smooth, but such is life! That makes sense about the bugs too. We had the cicadas in Missouri, not here in Florida though! Hugs to you girl!

Hi Wendy! I'm from Iowa and I've been living in Madrid, Spain since 2007. I'm a permanent resident here and live and work here. I really love your videos and outlook! When choosing an online Spanish class, make sure that you choose the Castilian Spanish from Spain. If you choose a Spanish course that is not the "Spain Spanish variety," your Spanish will sound really strange to a person from Spain. There is a lot of difference especially with grammar structures and vocabulary. It's not as similar as US and UK English, for example. Good luck and let me know if I can help with any questions!
@halstonandharleys6 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you so much for commenting and for sharing your valuable tip on learning Spanish, I have made a note of it! I would imagine you love Spain since you have been there that long, how exciting!! I am from Wisconsin originally - another mid Westerner, ha-ha! I will probably be flying from Miami into Madrid since I have the 2 cats and need a direct flight. Then I will need to travel up to Ourense. I would love to live in Madrid, but it may be a bit too pricey for me in terms of rental prices. Unless you can share some tips on how to find affordable accommodations in the bigger cities! I have been looking on Idealista. Cheers!
@jasonspilman5 ай бұрын
@@halstonandharleys Maybe we can meet for a coffee in Madrid if you aren't too tired from the flight. I love the video that you did about decorating your gallery wall BTW! It's possible to find cheaper prices in Madrid if you are willing to not live in the city center like me. I'm tired of the high rent prices (as I work almost 100% online) and contemplating moving to the beach one day soon anyway because I would like to have the option of going to the beach and enjoying the water.

@halstonandharleys6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! You get health insurance coverage, lots of options out there for Spain. I will discuss it more in another video, but the price I got was $60/month. I know, crazy!! Going to the chiropractor here costs me $75 per visit. Insurance and all the costs that go with it in this country are a big scam and total extortion from us citizens!!

@@halstonandharleys Found your channel a few weeks ago and am loving it. I am considering relocating to Mexico or Spain but I have a small dog who is very anxious and would likely die of fright (not joking) if he had to fly caged up in the baggage area. Are you able to have the cats crates with you in the cabin of the plane?
