Godzilla is one of my most wanted characters for Multiversus and there have been a ton of crossovers lately with him, and the monsterverse is currently crossing over with the justice League in the comics so hopefully that boosts his chances of being added someday. Also this game would be the perfect opportunity to have the Hanna Barbera cartoon godzilla as a skin!

Legendary has no say in this situation. Toho completely owns the rights to the Godzilla IP. However chances are still high looking at track history for the past few years. Godzilla has been in collaboration with games like COD, brawl stars, gigabash, and a few more.

I mean Legendary has clear intentions to expand the monster verse, surely that must’ve been with Toho’s blessing so the potential is definitely still there. Legendary wants to expand, PFG have shown intention to bring Godzilla in, the fans are obviously all unanimously supporting the idea of bringing him in. With all these colabs Toho has been doing with other games like Minecraft, Brawlstars, and MANY others recently I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if they do one with multiverses.

Toho seems a lot more lenient in terms of licensing Godzilla now (especially with the Japanese economy not being great rn and getting money from overseas is only a good thing) so it's definitely possible. Still, it's an expensive license and I think it'll cost a lot to get the different variants of Goji from over the years as alternate skins.

It’s technically possible I want Freddy Fazbear in Multiverses However, since WB only owns the rights to the movie version that would be pretty tricky for them to make a moveset with just one Freddy maybe they could use the seemingly teleportation of golden Freddy, but I’m not sure if that would count since the two are separate characters or who knows maybe WB would make a deal with Scott and the various companies working on Fnaf to allow the game version to be combined with the movie version If that happens, they could essentially say that Fazbear entertainment figured out a way to make the ultimate Freddy a combination of all previous Freddy animatronics if that happened, he could have such a versatile move set

Imagine if they decide to make a kaiju season and we get Godzilla, kong, gipsy danger and knife head And i don't remember exactly where i got this info so take it with a grain of salt, but apparently someone interviewed someone in Toho and asked why there hasn't been any new Godzilla game on consoles since the 2014 one and the person itself said that the option has always been there and that they are open to share the license with anyone who wants to make a deal with them but no one have reached them and taking in count how Godzilla has been everywhere from dave the diver to power rangers comics i think it is highly possible to him appearing in multiversus, the devs just need to make a deal with toho which apparently isn't that complicated

i don´t know convincing toho is a bit hard for the americans since 1998 because of obvious reasons for some godzilla fans and in it´s contract for godzilla to appear in a film or a product that ´s made out of japan it says that he cannot lose without leaving a son or directly cannot lose to anyone but i cannot deny it would be cool although he alredy appeared in gigabash recently so if he does appear i don´t think it will be soon

Toho gives out the MAIN Godzilla to any indie game developer that asks. Including smaller games like Gigabash. I’m sure they’ll be fine with Multiversus. Toho is extremely protective of how Godzilla is portrayed outside their movies. It would be extremely likely that they wouldn't want Godzilla depicted as only double the height of Superman. Most crossovers either Godzilla is, is close to, or can become his canon height. Characters usually have Godzilla based skins but Godzilla himself is rarely playable unless he is depicted as massive. Its not impossible but I would keep expectations low for now.

His chances went up when WB got the rights back to Godzilla. To anybody who doesn't know the reason toho originally gave them the rights after they destroyed their set during Godzilla Final Wars. Then desperate to make money they let WB and Legendary borrow the right. But Japan hated the 2014 movie as much as the 1998 because of the "fat American Godzilla". With tons of meme ridiculing him with "he ate too many cheeseburgers". So when the licensing expired after Godzilla vs Kong they were pretty happy to make a "real" Godzilla in Godzilla Minus One, while Legendaries in WB worked on a Son of Kong movie. But after seeing the money of Godzilla vs Kong Toho allowed WB and Legendary to use Godzilla again. WB and Legendary were so thrilled they changed Son of Kong into Godzilla X Kong Rise of the New Empire. This was the original reason Godzilla was scrapped from Multiversus because they lost the rights. Now they have it again. His chances are very high!

There are a few reasons that I want to see Godzilla in the game. One, I just really like Godzilla and his movies and comics (some of the games are pretty good, too). Two, we could get an interaction between Godzilla and Austin Powers where Austin references that one scene where the two guys were like “RUUUN! IT’S GODZILLA!” “It looks like Godzilla, but due international copyright laws, it’s not.” “STILL, WE SHOULD RUN LIKE IT *IS* GODZILLAAA!” “Though it isn’t.” “AAAAAAHHHH!”, where he could say something like “RUUUN! IT’S ACTUALLY GODZILLA!” Three, I would LOVE to see Godzilla be able to use his dropkick from Godzilla vs. Megalon and using his Atomic breath to fly like in Godzilla vs. Hedorah again! And four, imagine all the skins he could have! Burning Godzilla, SpaceGodzilla, all the different Godzilla appearances from the different eras, Super Godzilla, Shin Godzilla, Minus One Godzilla (I can guarantee that a LOT of people would buy this one as a premium skin), Hell Godzilla, and, heck, maybe even a skin for the Godzilla from the weird Hanna-Barbera Godzilla cartoon! And you could even have the different roars depending on which skin you’re using! Plus, it might be great for getting more players in Japan to play the game, now that they will have official support! AND, some of the members of the Justice League could reference the fact that they crossed over with Godzilla and King Kong in a comic in the past year (or they could reference the obscure cancelled Batman Meets Godzilla film, or, if they REALLY wanted to surprise some people, have Batman mention preparing a Bat-Grenade against Godzilla, referencing the popular The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny song)!

I feel like anytime someone asks like Yay or Nay for X character, I’m almost always gonna be a Yay. Unless it’s like a character that’s in other platform fighters; minus Brawlhalla because they have everyone. The character selection screen they showed us has the perfect spot for a scroll bar so they could just keep adding characters realistically.
