What healthy habit are you currently working on building, and how do you plan to make it stick in the long run?

Hi Shanon, another excellent and informative (and inspiring!) video, thank you. The habit that I am now going to implement is to do some stretches in the bathroom BEFORE I brush my teeth. The trigger is the pairing of the non-negational brushing of my teeth with my new habit of stretching. I think that this is small enough to be achievable. I have just put a post-it note in the bathroom mirror with the letter S in bold type to remind me of you and the video today. One thing that I have been doing for a while is setting a timer for 5 minutes and decluttering my house. The task was too daunting to begin with, but over the space of about 6 months my house is so much better, in particular having a less cluttered bedroom has helped me sleep better. I think that this habit is largely ingrained now as I do it automatically and my decluttering muscle has grown. House will probably take years to sort out but each drawer that is sorted out just seems to make me feel a bit better. Thank you, and I am really looking forward to when you are taking clients on again.

Debra, thank you so much for sharing your progress with me! I'm thrilled to hear that you're finding my videos helpful in achieving your goals. Your approach to pairing stretching with brushing your teeth is a fantastic idea! Maybe even marking each day you stretch on your Post-it note with a ✅ might keep you motivated, too! And setting a five-minute timer for cleaning your house is such a smart move - breaking down a daunting task into manageable chunks can make all the difference, and it's great to hear that you're already seeing the benefits. It's wonderful to see you making progress, one step at a time, and I'm so glad to be a part of your journey. Keep up the great work, and be sure to stay tuned for my upcoming group program - I think it will be a perfect fit for you!

My goal is walking at 115 heart rate for 30 minutes, 5 days a week. I calculated this rate using the appropriate formula to be safe and productive.

@@dreambuilder2756 That's so interesting, wow! Do you know where this formula is from? I don’t have any pre-existing medical conditions so I am going to pass this formula by my doc and I might test it out for myself to see how I feel. I'm always up for a challenge, haha! Let me know how it it's going for you!

I have to create a trigger because my intention to change a particular behavior goes by the wayside when I don’t have reminders to prompt me
@nourishcenter
@nourishcenter Жыл бұрын
I completely understand where you're coming from! Sometimes it can be tough to stay on track with behavior changes, especially when life gets busy or we get distracted. Creating a trigger is a really helpful way to keep that behavior at the forefront of your mind, so you don't forget to do it. Think of it like a little nudge or reminder to keep you on track. With the right triggers in place, you'll be able to stick to your new habit and reach your goals in no time!

There's no denying the benefits of waking up early - it can give us a head start on the tasks we need to accomplish for the day, boost our productivity, and set a positive tone for the rest of the day. But sometimes, getting out of bed early can be a struggle. That's why it's important to find something that motivates us to jump out of bed with excitement and energy. What are some enjoyable activities you can plan for your morning routine that you can look forward to doing?

I noticed, as I eat more healthy, my stomach hurts. I wonder if it's normal. Funny thing is, when I ate junk, my stomach didn't hurt. I am now eating more plant-based foods. Only avacado, or organic extra virgin olive oil. No, soy, soy bean, cottonseed, .......
@nourishcenter
@nourishcenter Жыл бұрын
There are many reasons why you might be experiencing this, and it's not just because you started eating "healthy". The thing is, some foods that are considered healthy can be difficult for your stomach to break down, which can lead to discomfort. My suggestion is to keep track of what you eat in a food log, including any symptoms you experience. Then, make an appointment with a dietitian and share your food log with them. They can help you figure out what might be causing the problem. I hope this helps!
