Angeblich stehen noch 3 nagelneue RO80 in Biberach an der Riß, bei der FA. Moll. Vor ungefähr 40 Jahren habe ich diese Autos selber gesehen. Sie standen in einer Tiefgarage, wo ein Restaurant mit Kegelbahn dazu gehörte.👆👆👆😃😃😃 Viele Grüße aus Warthausen bei Biberach an der Riß

Wow! I remember this car as a kid. My dad bought one, a used 1968, that had been imported to California. It was a terrific car, but almost impossible to maintain. Dad ended up selling it and bought an Audi 100LS.

Great video! Thanks for the Post. Brings is all back to me. I thought I had a load of spares but I was never in Hartmuts league! The thing about a Ro was that it kept you off the streets. 1 hour on the road to 10 under the bonnet. My Ros seemed a lot closer to the ground at the front than these. I did fit 95 A.h batteries, however, which is a partial explanation. [Tyneside, England]

In answer to "12valvepower1", the Mazda 12A and 13B will both fit into the Ro80. I used have a 1973 Ro80 which was powered by a 13B - it was very quick!!

Un coche precioso. Lástima que sus errores de motor, que fueron corregidos por NSU, no los hubieran publicitado más. NSU hubiera vendido más Ro 80. Un automóvil avanzado a su tiempo.

Since NSU was taken over by Audi after the production of this car, Audi itself could have refined the Wankel engine...

Am NSU Ro80 sehen wir die noch heute gültige AUDI-Form. Besonders die Aehnlichkeiten mit den späten Audi 80/90 B3/B4 sind absolut frappant.

Das Problem war das die Motoren ohne Probleme 8000 umin mitgemacht haben...was natürlich tödlich war.

Was niemand weiß: Neben dem Wankelmotor gab es einen Kugelmotor (Wolfhart Motor). Letzterer wurde schon nach dem ersten Prototyp unterdrückt.

Echt Schade das der Wankelmotor nicht die Lobby hatte die er benötigt hätte 🤔 Der Wankel wäre, wenn man den Motor Zuverlässig hin bekommt hätte eine Gute Alternative zum Viertakter gewesen 👍👍

terrible car, the rotary engine was a total failure nsu went bust because of warranty claims on these cars.
