Thanks mate! I used to build lots of Big Reactors, and kinda got stuck with the midset that "fuel rods or whatever should go to the center" and got terrible and costly reactors in return. This clears a lot for me, and I think I may have found an alternative to Big Reactors.

Just gotta remember that you're building the actual reactor, not the house containing it. The encasing blocks are basically apart of the reactor ;)

Thanks a lot! NC has been a blast. I just finished my first reactor in survival on mceternal... well the 6th iteration of my first reactor :P It's a 8x5x7 made of: 23 cells 107 Graphite blocks (moderators) 4 Active glowstone coolers 76 Glowstone coolers 44 copper coolers and It makes about: 17,000 rf/t on TBU oxide (easy thorium fuel) 25,000 on LEN-236 31,000 on MOX-239 I get about 5 minutes of burn time per fuel puck, though I've seen it burn more volatile fuels @ 3 mins a piece.

My reactor (using LEU-235) : 2700RF/t , -30H/t , 321.4% Eff , with 7 cells (CE) , 13 emerald cooler (EC) and 7 graphite block (GB). I think it's a good reactor because emerald is easy to get in some skyblock modpack. And fuel is used in 9 min and not 8 min. Edit (how to make it ) : a pilar of 3 EC each corner, then between both pilar (not the center) 2 pilar of 1CE+1GB+1CE and 2 pilar of 1GB+1CE+1GB. Finally, the center is a pilar of 1EC+1GB+1CE !!!

Ive realized after upgrading from a similiar reactor to this to a much larger one that they burn through fuel quite fast so do you know of any ways to automatically get uranium. I do know that mystical agriculture exists but I Find it quite cheaty. Mekanisms digital miner and buildcrafts quarry are decent until they run out of ores and I Have to move them. Btw I don’t mind moving The digital miner that much but od there is a way to get ores (specifically uranium) without The need for manual work that would be much more conveniant. Thanks im advance :)
@tepperpepper66693 жыл бұрын
3 options I know of are Botania's Orechid, Actually Additions Atomic Reconstructor with a Lens of the Miner, and Industrial Foregoing's Laser drill. The Orechid and Lens of the Miner require you to provide Stone but the Laser drill just requires energy.
@danbee64072 жыл бұрын
Mystical Agri does grow Thorium, you'll still have to mine Uranium.. but here's the fun part! Using that 'cheaty automation' allows you to setup a really cool fuel reprocessing loop. Those new fuels types you get add a great dynamic. I might recommend making two loops. One for TBU fuel reprocessing and a 2nd one for the Uranium reprocess. You should also add a 'safe fuels' whitelist filter as well... haha.

I need help with this like the name of each block and the amount to craft...also where do I hook up my red stone fluxduct from another mod to it so I can get power from it I’ve done it before on different reactor but this one doesn’t look like it has the place to output power
@NuclearCraftMod4 жыл бұрын
The blocks are reactor casing, coolers, graphite, cells and the controller. Power can be extracted from the controller or fission ports :)

How to prevent radiation leaking from a reactor? Am I doing something wrong? My geiger counter is going crazy around the reactor.
@NuclearCraftMod4 жыл бұрын
Adalwolf A permanent solution is placing radiation scrubbers, while in the meantime armour radiation shielding, radaway and rad-x are the things to use :)
@adalwolf83284 жыл бұрын
@@NuclearCraftMod Hi, thanks for reply! Is there a way to "block" radiation coming from the reactor with like cement or lead? Otherwise, the scrubbers and rad-away are very expensive to make in the early-midgame. I assume this is intended balance, but it's a bit annoying because I have to build the reactor far away from base to power my RF machines. (Btw love your mod)
