EDIT: As explained by bluediamond80 below, the fix I alluded to in the video would not work, as the liquid helium cooler on the top/bottom layer would become invalid due to being adjacent to two redstone coolers. -The way to improve the cooling at --11:18-- is to swap the redstone and water coolers either side of the gold, and then replace the lapis cooler behind the liquid helium with another redstone cooler (this is necessary to keep the liquid helium cooler valid). With that simple change, the two spaces either side of the iron cooler are now valid spots for liquid helium coolers. In total, you can get another 1440 H/t of cooling with this change :)-

It'd be really cool if there were a built-in (redstone is FAR too buggy to trust for this) active/deactivate feature for these things so you can be partially running your not-yet-finished/perfected reactor while you mine for and make all the parts you need. (Particularly as a "running in safe mode" for new players.) IE, turn on safe-mode, your power generation drops by a percentage (the smaller the reactor itself, the less you lose as you're not dealing with larger numbers/higher extremes) but it automatically shuts down when it hits something like 90% heat capacity, and reactivates when it reaches 5% heat capacity. That way it's not generating as much power per second (you'd still be getting the full power generation in the long run, it'd just take quite a bit longer to generate it), but some newbie isn't learning the hard way when a reactor goes critical because something happened to the configuration or because of a design flaw that went unnoticed.
@geevannman503
@geevannman503 4 жыл бұрын
You can literally just turn the reactor off while you build it - I don't think the work required for this reature would be worth it tbh. This is kinda meant to be a hard mod, but the current system is still pretty fool-proof.

Ok this may seem like a stupid question but are you able to put the controller on the top of the reactor? Like your reactor would be the floor of your house and you would have the reactor going down through the floor. I say stupid because after I think about it I would think it works since, on a cube all sides are front sides right?

How do you make fuel? And what is the recommended fuel for this exact build. I am very confused
@carrymesenpai3276
@carrymesenpai3276 3 жыл бұрын
Starter fuels would be made out of thorium or uranium, you need to make the isotopes of them, in the isotope separator and then just craft the fuel out of the isotopes. They can get quite complicated real quick, but the easiest one for sure is just the big thorium chunks that come out of the separator in a 3x3 crafting grid. TBU something is what the fuel is called. The fuel recommended for this exact build are the 2 he showed in the spreadsheet. One for a stable reactor, that means you can just throw in as much fuel as you want and it will produce fuel without ever overheating, and one for a unsafe reactor, that means the reactor will overheat after a given amount of time, which you have to regulate with a comparator setup, so that the reactor gets turned off every time the heat reaches a certain point.

@goosegg4653
@goosegg4653 5 жыл бұрын
All(?) Fuels have a highly enriched and low enriched version. Uranium is the first one you'll want to use, it's pretty standard. Then Plutonium. From plutionium you get Americium, then from that you get Curium, then Californium. This is all from reprocessing depleted fuel cells (you'll need the Highly enriched versions of fuels to get some of the right isotopes.) Low enriched is 8 common isotope and 1 rare one, highly enriched is 5 rare and 4 common. So Uranium

No, inputting the things to the device works fine, as far as I can tell..... What I'm having a hard time figuring out, is say I wanna automate the production of Ferroboron Alloy. I need Boron ingot and steel ingot to both be in the alloy smelter... So, If you set 2 chests to pump the boron and the steel into the machine, on separate or single feeds, it will indiscriminately fill both slots of the smelter w/ one kind of ingot, which forces the user to unclog the system. I'm trying to find a way to make it so boron only goes in 1 slot and steel only goes in another, so I wont have to worry about unclogging the machine.
