DNA repair - Nucleotide excision repair. NER is a DNA repair mechanism by which the pyrimidine dimers are removed. Proteins such as uvrA uvrB uvrC and uvrD plays an important role in this process.

Basically what my 7th grade mind can fathom from this is that 3 proteins identify the damage and make cuts to guide the 4th one another one comes in and takes out the damaged part + the area around it, then some human body repairman comes in and rebuilds the dna 🧬

Because of the site specificity of the nucleases ( UVRB & UBRC)
