This is nucleotide excision repair in prokaryotes it is slightly different in eukaryotes. Just thought I would mention that incase people didn't realize and thought it was for in humans. Great video, all your videos are very helpful and effective.

There is a very nice explanation about Nucleotide Excision Repair with nice clarification about the role of DNA Polymerase and Ligase in this process.

There's some correction: 1-UVR aba. Dimer scanning the DNA for injury. 2-when finds, a portions release and b remains in the site of thiamine thiamine dimer, i. e injury. 3- UVRc come and combine with b to make 2 cuts few nucleotides away from the site of injury. 4- UVR d is a helicase Enzyme removes the cut portion. 5-DNA POL3 complete a correct strand. 6-ligase fixes it. Thats all. 😀

i think it is UvrA that makes a complex with UvrB and scans and binds to the lesion site. though thanks for the explanation

I really enjoy your videos. Just 2 points. This is Global Genome NER in prokaryotes, not eukaryotes. Also, UvrA first recognizes the damage then UvrB verifies the damage. Everything else is spot on!

Sir can u plz tell why UvrB is used here bcz the separation to the lesion region is made only the Uvrc ... Why we don't only used Uvrc for the process instead of the UvrB/c complex??
@ashleysaxena
@ashleysaxena 7 жыл бұрын
Hey 2uvrA and 2uvrB is responsible for scanning d dna lession.actually uvr A does d scanning part and it leaves thn uvrc comes and forms a complex with uvrB cz c is responsible for cleaving.
