The KelTec KSG shotgun rocks the desert in the new Nutnfancy "Eat Lead" Drill. Combining combat-style of shotgunning with some challenging pistol targets, Eat Lead is a fast-paced course that starts in a trench and winds through sage brush and juniper. Many opportunities emerge for both system and shooter failure, always providing excellent and real systems data for the viewer. This will be the world video premier of the KSG being ran like this. With its 7+7+1 mag tube systems, short bullpup configuration, double pistol grips, and lightweight, the KSG is a cutting edge design. We come up with a few solid ideas however to make it better. With crew PFIDude, PFIDad, and Chad from Kel-Tec, this Nutnfancy Crew steps up and locks in to find out how it stacks against the proven speed and reliability of a Winchester 1300 in the course. Add in the handgunning, the joking, the workout, the gear surprises (oh yeah, there's lots), and you have yourself another fun and exhausting Nutnfancy RunNGun course...Eat Lead./////////////////////// Perfect EAT LEAD run score is 36 (25 pt/hits, 5 pt speed run bonus, 3 pt no miss shotgun bonus, 3 pt handgun no miss bonus). Any HOSTAGE hits subtract 5 pts! ////////Note: Downloading the KSG in the initial runs is imperative for a good test. Running full tubes would not have explored the complicated reload/switchover process unless the course was lengthened to an expensive, tiring, and time consuming 30 rds! And keep in mind, I ran several runs with full power 00 Buckshot as well...try that with 30 rds... I dare you. ☺ As I show and discuss, the KSG is different than any other gun and requires understanding and practice. In later runs we run it full to demonstrate capabilities and gather data. I suggest any critics to this decision look to other sources for the standard armchair group think and non-critical assessment on this new product. TNP has never been a place for this. You will learn much more about the KSG here and how you the viewer could be expected to run the gun under some stress as a represented by different skill levels within the crew. /////////////////////Music: Licensed to TNP from www.square-recordings.com/

Nutn and crew, Thanks for actually testing gear and showing testing in detail. Too many armchair experts on KZbin, love seeing the gear you recommend being used. Unbiased reviews are hard too find. Haters be damned. 9 times out of 10, I've been pleased with purchases made off of your recommendations.Keep up the good work.

I have to say this is one of the best videos out there for one reason. You point out all the problems that can occur with a new gun. No matter how many features and improvements new guns have over old guns, you need to test it. For example, the new ACR and the SCAR were supposed to improve on the AR15 platform, but even they have critical issues. That's why run-n-gun testing is a must. I hope KelTec takes up your advice, because the idea behind that shotgun is great.

Nothing can hide from a solid run n' gun course. My buddy and I went out and set up our own run n' gun for fun and ended up learning a lot about our systems that we never would have found out otherwise. I think the KSG needs some fine tuning, but KelTek will get it there. The PF9 didn't come along until after they had made several other compact pistols. I'm glad KelTek is pushing the limits and innovating.

Props to Chad and Kel-Tec. It takes a lot of sack to do what is essentially field testing a new and revolutionary system in front of the general public. Design on the drawing board is one thing, working out that design in the real world is another. Exposing things that need to be tweaked in either weapon design or in system training can only make the KSG a stronger platform. Another great vid. Thanks Nutn and the gang.

Thanks for reviewing the KSG & the RFB. I love the idea of a shorter weapon with full length power. I had seen ads for the RFB before and really wanted to see how it would do & then was loving it when I saw early stuff on the KSG. Kudos to TNP, Kel-Tec, & to Chad.

Its nice to see videos with people of different skill levels. Its also nice to see how everyone at some point struggles/learns/overcomes. Most videos online they edit those things out to make you think they are Rambo, but in the real world, its not always so easy. Well done.

I love the fact that you have a Kel-Tec Rep right there and you are saying what you don't like about his companies gun and he is listening to you, and he knows that people out in the public are going to see this. I own a Kel-Tec and it is a challenge to shoot and I have issues with it, but I know what they are and I carry it every day, all day. Knowing a guns issues helps to manage it, so it isn't a problem. I want to know my gears issues sooner rather then later.

LOL, the Kel-Tec forum moderator at KTOG is spazzing out that this was not a perfect commercial for Kel-Tec. His hot air is likely hurting the KSG more than anything from this awesome video. Thank you Nutn for specifically not making a boring predictable ad like many other youtubers (and all Gun Mags).

@ADHuss1 I am uploading Part 2 right now and I address how honest Chad is as a rep for KelTec. I loved that and it creates a very synergetic (big word) exchange that can improve the products. There were no games played here as you note. I too find little use for infomercials on products. If I tabletop something and am excited about it then it really does rock (as far as I can tell). Thank you!

Dude awesome video. I love this KSG shotgun despite how much different it is to what most of us are used too. Thanks TNP for bringing this to us and showing the gun in its true form. I think with enough round for brake in and more practice you guys will become monsters with this shotgun. I really don't see a problem with re-loading the gun and I think a true test will be to run it at its max 14+1 cause that will show how its firepower excels over anything else you guys have there. Thanks again.

@ThreeLineRifle Me too. You will see in later episodes we are quite taken with the KSG. I has a few points that need improvement. For example, I note in a later part that the chamber/mag loading area has a steep bevel that catches the rounds as they are shoved in. This happened several times and you will need some stress to discover this. A more gradual bevel is needed.
@nutnfancy

@roscoe9988 Thanks, great comment. We were all very stoked about the pump and its fast! You will see its speed pick up in other runs. However the mag tube switch over continues to take everyone by surprise; you will always shoot it dry and then there's that moment of "huh?" Train and it will become more of a known quantity. As I annotate, think of the switch over as a reload because that's what it is. And no you can switch back and forth even when loaded. Expect confusion between tubes.

That's exactly why I haven't switched away from the adjustable sights on the five seven! Once I dialed it in, picking off empty shotgun hulls at 25-30 yard was easy. I can't do that with any other pistol with anywhere near as easily. It just makes everything feel a lot easier to put a bullet on. Still experimenting with my glock 23, it amazed me my first range trip, even better than my 20 with competition sights and a 2.5LB trigger.

What a cool gun! I think it would make an excellent home defense gun with the selectable tubes, with training on knowing how/when to reload etc. I really like the camera angles of the swinging around over the shoulder with the shotgunning. Great coordination on the directions and safety! This Keltec shoot has really been a massively enjoyable adventure. Thanks for posting!

Let the KSG run full ammo. That is why it is so tactical and innovative! Plus in an urban combat setting indoors, the size of the keltec gives the advantage, which can't be simulated in this drill. @Blutgang I learned quite a bit and took the info back home to our engineers. A lot of the ideas I've seen here and with TNP are great ones and we always listen to you guys and appreciate all of the suggestions. Some stuff has been adopted, some things are just too difficult to change given the financial aspect in this particular design and some ideas are just mechanically impossible. Also, we understand that not everyone will be COMPLETELY satisfied. There is no perfect firearm. -Chad

I am happy to see the KSG prototype being put through it's paces, and I like all of the cool features. It has a LOT of potential. I feel the #1 priority is to have the production KSG feed any brand of 12g ammo, all of the various lengths and loads, FLAWLESSLY. If it can't do that, it's not combat / home defense worthy. In a WOROL or SHTF type of senario, all of that magazine capacity wouldn't do me any good if it wont feed whatever I can scrounge up after my favorite loads are gone.

@HighValueWarrior I have seen these guys always putting on the safeties on their guns during the drill while moving to and from targets and I have not seen them point the firearms in unsafe directions. As far as the egos go these guys joke around but Chad has never been overly defensive about his shooting or Kel Tecs products. As far as Kel Tec goes, they have been making firearms for all of 16 years and they are already the biggest innovator in the US. They are willing to push boundaries!

Thanks nutn and TNP crew!

@ylism As shown in the photos, I run the KSG in upcoming runs. The philosophy on the Eat Lead Drill was well thought out (heck I stayed up til 3am doing it!): pit the KSG up against a proven, conventional, and fast pump. Later on the Saiga-12. My first run with Winchester 1300 is a way to keep the testing real and provides a baseline of sorts: beat my time and score with the 1300. Read sidebar in regards to downloading KSG, it served a good purpose. Watch other vids for the excitement

I would have to say I really enjoyed this video. I learned a lot about the weapon: do's/don't/will-won'ts. I think this is the first REAL videos on the KSG and really DO BELIEVE that Kel-Tec will 'correct', adjust, and see items of concerns/suggestions. I was torn between Benelli M4 and KSG. Honestly, (FOR ME) I don't think I like the multi-barrel option after all-nor do I like the manual action. I think i'll just go with the Benelli-Thx Nut'n for keeping them honest and real.

Great video guys, keep it up! For a pre-production weapon, the KSG does really well. I'm confidant that with a little more practice it'll be running really well. wow i read some of that moderator's comments, and they all had something to do with how you weren't being fair to the guns, that they shouldn't be 100% out of the box. @BENLINUZ Thanks for noticing and yes we keep it real in TNP. KT is an outstanding brand and I really think any deficiencies should and will be corrected by them eventually. Some would prefer wave their flags at the parade and tell the emperor how well dressed he is and therefore keep status quo, but I don't work that way. Improve it, perfect it, then it will deservedly reign as a masterpiece of design. It's almost there, just a few tweeks as we will discuss.
