John, I actually have a solution for the 4096 resolution (my driver is in Portuguese so I'll translate directly): Open up NVCP - Adjust desktop size and position - Set it to FullScreen/GPU and Enable "Replace scaling mode defined by games and apps" - Choose 3840x2160 resolution and GG. You're done and now you can use the right 4k resolution as fullscreen in any game. :D

Love the fact that Nvidia allow us to alter the PQ curve/highlight clipping point of the HDR so it will match our display peak brightness so that we will get the best possible experience for our display capabilities wether it is Vesa HDR certified or Vesa True Black HDR certified. Calibrated display will get the most out of this feature, I suppose.

Everyone I've heard talk about this new app always mentions how slow NVCP is, but honestly I can't say I've ever noticed it being particularly slow. Is it only slow on certain devices or am I just not noticing the slowdown?

When you open the Program Settings tab it takes forever to populate, then if you change a bunch of settings in a profile and click "Apply", it kind of freezes and refreshes several times. It's far from a responsive experience, but it's not like it's an unbearable one either.

There's NO WAY this new app is going to have all of the current features of Nvidia Control Panel. I'm postponing this upgrade as much as I can. I still use some old monitors and conversion cables like HDMI and Display Port to VGA, and only the old Control Panel has all the options to make everything work correctly

Just a heads up for people installing, it messed some of my in game settings on some games. Also I’m really waiting for the driver update that allows you to use RTX HDR with more than 1 monitor.

Doesn't necessarily mess them up. The program just automatically "optimizies them again like when you first installed the game. I think you can revert it. Not sure if it works. ​@@Simon_Denmark

FYI: Using the Nvidia App, you can't use RTX HDR in concert with DLDSR - but with the mentioned mod you can apply a RTX HDR setting even when using DLDSR at the same time. That's kind of interesting. Also, a few of the "optimized" settings don't make sense. The advertising in it is also super annoying. The app is more like a replacement for GeForce Experience (which I also never used and won't install.) A legit replacement for NVCP would be great.

You can also solve Ryse Son of Rome FPS issues with the same method (FPS cap in Nvidia control panel), not sure why, but it works and I tested it on 900, 1000, 2000 and 4000 series GPUs

How do I set rtx hdr? In windows I had a calibrator software to apply a profile for auto hdr, but these sliders in the NVAPP give me nothing, I just want correct colors and brightness.

There's like a specific order you need to CRU EDID changes so that it doesn't fuck things up. try only doing one change at a time and see where in the sequence if fucks things up

i wish theyd add more audio tracks i upgraded my audio setup some time ago and now have discord and the game on separate tracks, but now discord is never recorded by shadowplay, for that reason i have to use OBS

I think so. I use NvCleanstall to get my drivers so I don't know if it's because of that or Windows 10 but the option doesn't show for me either. The mod seems to work quite well, though.

It looks good, but it's still missing several critical features, like monitoring gpu wattage, adjusting power limits and various rendering settings. If everything of relevance can be brought over I'll make the switch, but at this time it's not quite there yet.

I hope Nvidia doesn't get rid of "PC" resolutions, using the "Ultra HD, HD, SD" resolutions makes my display look white-washed. Probably a quirk of my BenQ but I get much better color accuracy using the legacy resolutions.

As long as they don't kill Nvidia Inspector with it.. Applying SGSAA to my older favorites is one of the reasons why I'm sticking with Nvidia. Also I would LOVE for you guys to pester them into adding more DLDSR modes, I really don't see why we can't have at least "3x". Even more would be great of course, but at least let us have that already. Also remove sharpening from it, it's stupid that even at 100% Smoothness it is still a bit sharpened.

RTX HDR kept turning itself on in every game globally instead of individually for me, but for others experiencing this, i think you might just have to switch profiles instead of turning on/off rtx hdr

What i am worried about is Multi Monitor Surround and 3D Vision is the case of 3D Vision thy already removed support but if you have old hardware and drivers then you can still use it but chances are you cant with the new app

Will it allow for danymic settings like enabling/disabling the frame limiter, forcing vsync? It's annoying to have to restart the game after changing settings in the NVCP. That would be the only advantage of the Nvidia App imo.

Yea I have to close my game sometimes for the overlay to trigger. If I don't it takes screenshots of the desktop and then stops working all together after a few minutes

Actually, just today i have completed rise of the tomb raider with DLAA forced on via DLSS tweaker app. This was transformative, game wasn't blurry anymore, nor did it have any aliasing which were the sole reason i never played this game on pc. It was so bad it would make me nauseous. And having stuff like that out of the box with the new nvidia app does sound exciting

Is there a setting in the app to where you don't have to restart whatever game you are applying the filter to? I also tried using it on starcitizen and it wouldn't work after restarting. It said turn of hdr or auto hdr. Yet when i used it on scum and Horizon Zero Dawn it worked without the notification of turning hdr and or auto hdr off. It worked on top of what my settings were. Just had to restart for it to be applied. Maybe Starcitizen doesnt support it maybe?

I will be immediately disabling it as an overly in the background of games and using Nvidia Profile Inspector still. I don't want anything running parallel to my games potentially taking away CPU time and/or adding complications. The only exception is Reshade. All I want is my game, (potentially) Reshade, and that's it. Everything else I want to control on a game to game basis with Nvidia Profile Inspector beforehand without it running on top of the game.

What is this talk about NVCP being super slow and sluggish to start? For me NVCP starts in an instant and is not slow at all. Its responsive and works well. I do have a cleaned up, debloated driver though. It baffles me how these youtubers that are supposedly tech savvy are this lost when it comes to software and how to use it efficiently. People want flashy shiny UI with the cost of incapacitated functionality. A shame... Especially how clueless Dark1X is...

I use RTX HDR on Streetfighter 6 and its a bit underwhelming to be honest Hopefully Capcom add HDR natively at some point seeing as the RE engine can easily do it

you clearly have settings wrong then because im blown away. In fact, the rtx hdr is alctually working better than the in game hdr with windows. make sure your setting are correct. cyberpunk and many titles ive tried look fantastic.

Why are graphics and display settings now forcefully bundled in this bloated app that looks like yet another games launcher. I dont want huge game thumbnails and "best offers from nvidia and partners" when all i want to change is perhaps vsync or aniso filtering. This is just to for force everyone into nvidias GFE (aka Nvidia app) ecosystem. Meh, not a fan. Why not just modernize control panel seperately. Right now we have a choice to not use GFE but Nvidia is hellbent to take that choice away.
