That vase of cotton was a gift from a good friend and client that also happens to be a doooopppppeeee designer (Niya at Ishka Designs) ...I saw it in. His home and loved it and he gave it to me as a welcome gift ...and it just felt right going there and a form of grounding and acknowledgment from whence we came And the hard work that it took before I was born. I am because they were. Oh, something Niya told me when I first closed and before breaking ground...he said: take an air mattress and sleep in every room and get a feel for the house and energy while you wait for permits to begin work. You will have a better idea of what you want to do once you’ve lived in it... and sure enough that one bathroom on top floor that I did not change was a direct result of that 30 day exercise.
