Definitely funky! It was really fun going through your pot of funkiness, and yes, that is the biggest bulb I have ever seen. Wow! Congratulations on getting your 100k KZbin button, though you have already passed that, and I bet if you wanted to alter it you would turn it into something others wish they had received as their 100k button. And of ALL your videos I've seen so far today (about a dozen) THIS one is sooo good. Great topic. Thinking aloud so we can see that it's OK. Planning. Doing. Re-planning. NOT planning. Chancing the ruination of not just a project but an entire video. Speaking of videos - your productions are very well done. Hi Nick. The item you pulled out of your tub at 23.05 is an antique copper and brass fire nozzle. These are the main reason you need more than one firefighter holding the hose as it’ll throw you around all over the place! They’ve been replaced by “hand controlled branches” now, which are much safer as you can turn them off rather than shouting at the pump operator to do it for you!

Nick, That was an acid/soda fire extinguisher. They were filled with a water and bicarbonate soda mix and acid would have been in the bottle located in the little cage at the top with a lead stopper in it. Tip it upside down the lead stopper fell out the acid mixed with the soda in the water and a gas was formed and pushed the water out the hose under pressure. They were outlawed here in the states in the early 60's because then would tend to explode when pressurized. The reason you had trouble cleaning it was because it should have been coated with a clear lacquer finish to protect it from the acid which is the same reason the cap was painted. While that wasn't an extremely rare extinguisher it was in really good shape and looked great once you cleaned and polished it and would have been worth a couple of hundred dollars here in the states. You kinda ruined it with the burning but hey I still like your videos so don't quit. What did you do with the basket and bottle that was in it they are hard to find complete.

Restoration is restoring to original state or as close as possible. This is not restoration! Please don’t call it a restoration, it’s a upcycle, it’s recreating it, call it anything but restoration as you’re not actually restoring it, you’re turning it into something new! Greetings from Canada! You are quite the character now Nick in comparison to your early videos!! Love it! Keep up the great work. I look forward to your weekly projects.

I love this video, as a firefighter I love these old fire extinguishers. I wish you had left the patina instead of polishing it though. That old extinguisher has been through a lot and could’ve possibly saved many lives by using it over its hundred year history. That’s all gone with the patina. Otherwise, as always, beautiful video. Cheers from California.

I love this. I do a lot of copper work and painting with fire is a joy. I would like this piece done with a co.or changing led and a holed copper shade. Love your bucket of funkiness.

I loved the buffed copper look. If i was doing this I would feed the wire up through the hose & I think mounting this on a vintage extinguisher mount at a low level would be cool! Nice job man!!

Great project. Love it. Yeah, I am one of the people that probably would have kept the copper un-fired, but looks good this way too. Was thinking a smaller flame bulb with a glass globe cover would look good, but the huge bulb kicks ass. 100K subs, now at my viewing of this you have 884K subs with 195k views on this. As you may say. Good Show! 😁
