Some genealogies and histories state the O'Byrnes had another victory at Glenmalure over Cromwellian Ironsides in early 1650. Easiest to find source I've seen on it is Gilbert's "Contemporary History of the Affairs of Ireland" from 1880 ish.

What's the significance of Thomas Lee wearing traditional Irish garb?
@Clans_Dynasties3 жыл бұрын
I did comment it seems to have been deleted, There is a paper called 'seax (remove the a) and bare legs thomas lee' by ian leask that touchs on this he was said the be Elizabeths policeman and O'Neils lover, the pefect hybrid this painting was to show that he was half civilised (english) and half barbarian (irish).
@clintedwards40273 жыл бұрын
@@Clans_Dynasties So was Thomas Lee in the same camp as the other Gaelicized Normans like the Fitz Geralds, Butlers, Burkes, etc.? You're doing great things. I run a podcast called Scottish Clans. My interest definitely spills over into the Irish kindreds. I've watched a lot of your material, which is right up my alley. Keep up the good work.

Man, you really really need to brush up on your pronunciations. If I listened to someone doing French history and they couldnt say French words correctly......then I wouldnt take them seriously....or more importantly....believe what they are saying!
@Clans_Dynasties6 ай бұрын
I remember you saying the same thing on another video, and i have taken the points you made in consideration. Thank you for the help. As I have pointed out before, I'm not a native Irish speaker. What little Irish I was exposed to was the Ulster Dialect, which isn't the standard taught, and 90% of what I'm talking about, I've read it. I've not heard is said, I do try and find these words being spoken, but often I can not find them. All sources are provided in the comment sections if people wish to dispute what I'm saying.
