you cinnected the cable on the insude of the shifer, you need to put the cable on the outside of the shifer

Is it not just the clear plastic window that has the incorrect markings? Mine has: (Park)(R)(N)(D)(2)(1) No third. I bought a set of those plastic windows and I got two versions. The one you have and the one I currently use. I think mine are aligned correctly. I commented before wathing the whole video. I might be entirely wrong about this.

No not the plastic. I have over drive so the plastic one I have is the correct one.

Wow, what an amazing Camaro! If you did all that work yourself, great job! I not only have the same shifter in my '81 CJ-7, but also have the same misalignment of the indicator. Since making this video, have you been able to fix the problem? I have not had the chance to tear into mine to see how or if it is adjustable.
@obengston17 жыл бұрын
No. I called the company they said no fix for it.. But believe there is a way to go inside it and recheck something .. not sure though

They might have sent you the 4 speed shifter with wrong console

@@obengston1do you have to have a console to mount it? or you can mount it to the floor?

Don't they have like a lifetime warranty?

Assuming you're running a 4-speed automatic, then? Did you ever get this resolved?
@obengston14 жыл бұрын
Yes 4 speed, and no.

@@obengston1 Looked at Quicksilver (universal model, not a console model like yours). The metal tab with the red rubber indicator (tip) is sort of flexible -- it can be nudged gently back and forth. But CAUTION: it's attached to (same part as, really) the left-side plate that has the cutouts and bumps that actuate the Neutral Start and Backup Light Switches. I don't know if you could bend the tab forward enough to get better alignment without throwing off the actuation of your switches. You could remove the red rubber tip, and try to attach (spot weld, or epoxy, or ... ?) an offset pointer that the tip would fit over. Good luck ... :-)
