My parents's friends had a baby after something like that. The got divorced, but the woman kept saying that she didn't cheat on him. He took a DNA test just to prove to her that the baby couldn be his. Everybody was calling her a liar, but when the DNA test came, it proved that the baby was actually his. He asked to get back together with her, but she didn't want to because he didn't trust her and said some really mean things about her behing her back

Honestly yeah, that's always a risk with that kind of assumption. While the alternative is just as likely in some cases, going that far and wanting it all back is one of those things that a cooler head can usually avoid. Picture it this way, while its awful to have doubts about your partner's fidelity, its probably a safer bet to save the jeering for when you've actually got confirmation, cause it will look like your personality otherwise.

The reality is a dna test should be done and it shouldn’t “be a big deal”. No woman should divorce or threaten her husband for wanting a test in that scenario. It’s fully understandable based on data and science

Men & women cheat. Often. I think the exact statistics r 51% of men and 49% of women have cheated in a past relationship. That said, as adults things can be managed a lot better than how it sounds this couple did things. He knew that a vasectomy isnt 100%, yet didnt even wait for the results to be angry. & he reacted out of misinformed anger & threw away his marriage. Keeping a cooler head is advice you would also benefit from btw. Bc all your comments did, is make it sound like 1. A woman has recently cheated on you 2. Women usually cheat on you 3. You hate women or 4. All the above.

I think I should just stop having sex at all before I lose my mind... every birth control method can fail, pregnancy tests can be false negative, period can just be some pregnancy bleeding that looks like period... I have a family friend who this happened to. He actually ended up quitting his job and moving away after his son was born because the small town where he was living was so horrible to his wife afterward. People in the town were telling him that it is not possible to get pregnant after a vasectomy and that he was an idiot for staying with her and believing that she didn’t cheat on him. Called his wife all sorts of nasty names. Their son is 17 now and looks exactly like his father. In fact, he looks the most like the father out of all four of their children. They are still happily married.

I have 4 kids 3, 10, 12 & 13 and my husband and I tried for 8 months for our last one due 11/11. We actually miscarried on 11/11 last year. Crazy we somehow are due the same day! Creepy and I don't believe stuff like this but a friend went to see a psychic who told her that somebody she knew had miscarried and that baby would come back to walk the earth because it chose her. It was recorded and I heard her say it. Creeped me out! My friend didn't know who it could be about until later she remembered my miscarriage and due date were the same!

i'm also a vasectomy baby! when my mom found out she was pregnant, she actually cried because she didn't want another baby and she was very overwhelmed because my dad had a vasectomy so she thought she couldn't get pregnant. later on, when she found out she was having twins, she and my dad just laughed. like, of course the one time they didn't want a baby, they got two instead. so it was like winning two lotteries with two tickets they didn't know they had! my parents always make sure to let me and my twin know that even though they didn't /want/ any more kids, they're so happy that they ended up with us.

I read a magazine article years ago about a woman who became pregnant 5 years after her husband's vasectomy. He then went to his urologist for a semen analysis that was negative. He accused her of cheating--she told him that there was no way that the baby was not his. She must have had an awful time during that pregnancy. But then the baby was born--and she looked just like the husband. A DNA test was done and the doctor said that he had never seen a closer genetic match between a father and a daughter. The husband was referred to a university hospital. It turned out that he was producing sperm intermittently, so yes, he was the baby's father.

I was a “surprise vasectomy baby” too lol my dad went and got one after my parents had 3 kids and he even went back to get it checked and everything seemed good. Like a year later, my parents played a prank on my siblings by telling them they were gonna get a new sibling. It was a good laugh until about a month later when my mom thought “I feel pregnant...hmmm...” and whoop, there I was 😂 They call me the karma baby, lol be careful what you joke about 😂😂😂 (Also I love your videos and I think it’s so great how you are super kind in educating and opening conversation up about these topics. My friend almost had a vasectomy baby. It was several months after her husband got one when she started feeling tired and sick. She joked to him that she might be pregnant and he turned beet red. He was jumpy and sweating bullets all day. He finally confessed that he had chickened out of the appointment for the vasectomy and went through great lengths to fake his "healing" process. Fortunately, she was not pregnant. Surprisingly she stayed married to the idiot. He got that vasectomy too.

Speaking of being told not to push...My grandmother had fast labors, even with her first in 1918. Her doctor was not at the hospital yet when she had to push. The OB nurse told her not to until the doctor arrived. My grandmother told to go to hell, she was having this baby now. So the nurse put her fist against the baby's head and prevented birth for 30 MINUTES!!! My grandmother screamed and yelled and cussed her out the whole time. The second the doctor walked in the nurse let go and that baby came flying out. My grandmother made a formal complaint and the doctor apologized, but she told him in no uncertain terms that he better hustle when she called to say she was in labor and if he wasn't there she would damn well push when she needed to. She said the pain of 3 births combined was nothing compared to.those 30 minutes of being prevented from pushing her baby out.

That's awful. My grandma said when she had her second child, the doctor checked her dilation and said "just a couple more hard contractions and then we'll start pushing" and she said if she could have gotten off that table and slapped him she would have.

There are no words for how BRAINLESS a BUFF00N that nurse was! There’s very real risk of serious injury to the baby- permanent injury- by forcing them to stay inside the mother when the uterus is pushing them out! And being forced to stay in the birthing canal for 30 minutes, being crushed down on on every side, when they’re supposed to have an opening toward which they’re being squeezed! That can be simply too much stress for a little baby. That’s why when a doctor discovers during labor that the mother’s birthing canal isn’t going to be big enough to accommodate the baby, it often becomes an emergency to do a c-section. It just puts so much stress on the baby to be pressed down against a space that won’t allow it to pass through, and can cause its heart rate to drop, among other things. What that nurse did was incredibly dangerous to the baby. To say nothing of the horrific physical torture your poor grandmother endured!! I CANNOT IMAGINE!!!! You didn’t mention, but I really hope everything turned out ok anyway, for the baby (your parent/aunt/uncle) and for your grandma!

I waited 3 hours after I was 10cm dilated wanted to push but was told no and then they medicated me because they said it would be a painful next few hours as it was first pregnancy and it was already day 3 and he was WAY up birth canal. By 3rd pregnancy I was 3cm dilated at 7 months pregnant and still fully effaced like wth and last one water broke and she was born 6 minutes later while thinking I had to poop middle child thought I had to poop too and Burse said let me check that means you may be ready. I was. Born fast as well but I at least wasn’t alone. The last one I forgot about pooping and baby coming but I was in hospital and pulled the cord and the girls from desk came running

Thank you for saying that her husband's thought of "did she cheat on me" was normal. About 7 years ago I had a gonorrhea test come back (falsely) positive and I knew I had only been with my husband. The clinic insisted there was absolutely no way it was wrong, the samples were switched, or the results entered under the wrong patient. They didn't have a lab on site so it was sent from Corpus to San Antonio. My first thought was also that my husband cheated, but he swore the thought never crossed his mind when I asked him what was up. I've always felt like a bad person for thinking this about him especially since he swears that he never thought that about me. Oh, and I did get retested at a clinic attached to a hospital with their own on site lab. It was clearly negative.

I once worked alongside two women who had literally been best friends since they were in diapers. They were raised in neighboring houses, went to school together, did homework together, went to the same university, and then worked together. Both said they couldn't remember a time before they knew the other one, had matching tattoos, that kind of closeness. Three separate times, one of the women would get pregnant, and the other one would be able to tell before she'd even missed a period or had any symptoms. It was absolutely nuts. I was there for the third instance, (I had also become personal friends with them at this point) so I got to witness one of the friends coming in and going "Dude, your dog is acting so weird today. Are you pregnant again?" "I don't think so, but I can go take a test" and then the subsequent, "You have got to be sh***ing me." from the bathroom. There's something to be said for knowing someone *that* well that you just know when it happens.

I feel like women are shamed for some of the regular things our bodies do in the weirdest way. Most of us will buy condoms, birth control, pads/tampons, and pregnancy tests in our lifetime but for something so normal it seems like society really feels a lot of shame about it. @@Evija3000 I'm sorry to hear that, it's such a normal human process and I wish it was viewed differently. I'm 23 and it still bothers me sometimes when I'm stocking up on my six months worth of dollar tree pregnancy tests and people stare (I look kind of young still too, probably doesn't help these people mind their own business) but I just try to be confident and look them in the eyes. You'd be amazed how quickly they look away, probably because buying any of these products makes them feel ashamed so they want to bring you down to their level. Unable to stand confrontation about their own shame, they will often leave you be if you do confront then about with any amount of confidence (even if it's fake) I've also worked to be very open about all of these things to help change the stigma, I just try to have the mentality that I can't be shamed if I don't have any shame. I know that is easier said than done, and some people may not ever be able to feel that way, so that's why I'm trying to actively participate in ending the stigma around it.

I love how you mention frequently that everyone doesn't feel all these amazing feelings right after having a baby. I felt betrayed and upset with myself because I did not feel anything amazing when my first was born. I had a traumatic birth and was terrified something was wrong with me and I didn't love my baby. Thankfully, those feelings did not stay. I just didn't get an overwhelming flow of positive emotions like everyone told me I would when I first held my baby.

With my first i also had a traumatic experience, it's not that I didn't love my baby but I was in so much pain, and so out of it.. i didn't really get that overwhelming feeling of like excitement and joy, I guess? It was just kinda blah? But later after visiting him I felt in awe of the little creature I created. My second tho I had a wonderful birth and it was an instant overwhelming burst of joy. I think it all comes down to the birth, all comes down to your circumstances. Not every birth is gonna be perfect and I think women sometimes paint a picture of this serene birth with little pain and only joy. But it doesn't always happen that way lol.

Everyone I had ever talked to told me that the moment I held my baby everything would be ok and I'd be flooded with feelings of love. And it didn't happen, which is ok- like you said! I was a “surprise vasectomy baby” too lol my dad went and got one after my parents had 3 kids and he even went back to get it checked and everything seemed good. Like a year later, my parents played a prank on my siblings by telling them they were gonna get a new sibling. Great video! Always love your content! I am a product of a vasectomy failure thanks to a combo of golf and my dad being a chemist.. He skipped his follow up visit to go play golf, saying he had a microscope at home and could check for swimmers anytime (which he didn't!)... Behold my mother finds out she's pregnant when she's about 4 months along, she too had what she thought was an irregular cycle after dealing with the stress of helping her mom plan 2 funerals during that time. But once things calmed down and still no period, she decided to take a pregnancy test, and it was positive! When she told my dad he reacted as most would, going straight to thinking the baby can't be his, and in an effort to confirm he finally pulled out his microscope to check for himself! He came back to my mom, tail between his legs, and said yup they're still swimming! That's the story of how I came to be and how I can thank golf for my existence haha.

Oh girl, I relate! Not having butterflies for my husband bothered me so much, but it didn't mean he wasn't the man for me. He's totally amazing, and makes me feel so safe and loved. I don't need butterflies to know he's the one for me. I've also learned that butterflies are actually usually a physical response to uncertainty, surprise, and unknowing of what to expect. Which is why couples who have butterflies at the beginning of a relationship usually lose them after being together for an extended period of time. It doesn't mean they're no longer in love, it just means they now know what to expect from each other and feel safe and known.

My fertility doctor told us my wife would be back one day for a tubal ligation. Turned out, on top of her fertility issues, which we were able to address with medication, I have no sperm. Literally zero. So the tubal ligation turned out not to be necessary. As were all the other forms of birth control we had used before that point. Wish we knew that before. We haven't used birth control in over 9 years now. We have wonderful twins, thanks to a sperm bank. Surprisingly, 1 of them totally takes after my side of the family, despite no genetic relation.

My husband got a vasectomy before we got married because I take heavy meds and have a weak body. That and our combined genetics scared us. We didn't want to risk bringing an unhealthy child onto this world just because i wanted a child. I still ended up pregnant once. I lost the baby right after finding out, but it happened. I also found out I have endometriosis, so my fertility is probably not the best. I always insisted that if I did end up pregnant, that I would get a paternity test, but my husband said there was no need. He trusts me so much that he never questioned me, even though he had gotten specimen samples tested and all came back negative. The right partner is a wonderful thing to have in your life and I would never break his trust by cheating.

The first few months after my baby was born, i was so exhausted with the feedings, diaper changes, disturbed sleep cycles and all that new born things. And now that I look back i don't think I ever sat for a moment and thought "i love my baby so much" of course I did but the love that I feel now is so much more than what I felt then. All I'm saying is it took me time to bond with my baby. And I was so ashamed of even thinking it. I also had a hard delivery that ended in a c section. It took awhile for real bonding to occur. My friend, on the other hand, had a typical, no surprises, relatively normal birth, but still had a hard time bonding right away. I think it's more common then people realise, regardless whether you had a hard or an easy birth.

my pregnancy brain story: early on when the food indifference set in, I couldn't stomach the thought of practically anything. I thought maybe I could do a pizza and Chinese food. So my poor hubby goes to BOTH places on his way home from work, but asks me to call them in. I ended up forgetting to order him ANYTHING. This man went to two places for dinner for his pregnant wife and picked up the last order like, "Wait, is that all that was in the order [where is mine]?"

I’m so glad you continue to let people know that it is normal to not be starry eyed when you first meet your baby. I didn’t have that feeling with any of my 4 kids right away and it made me feel guilty even though I love my kids with all of my heart and soul. It’s good to know I’m not alone.

Definitely didn't immediately feel bonded to my baby after almost 3 hours of pushing. At first it was just like "there's a cheesy, slippery thing on my chest. I'll keep him from falling off, but I'm tired and I hurt a lot" When they brought him back from his bath, I was a little more starry-eyed. Once he was able to smile and laugh, I was definitely over-the-moon enamored with him.

I’ve had an IUD for 2 1/2 years and almost NEVER have a period. I also know two people who have gotten pregnant with theirs. I’m constantly paranoid I’m going to be a subject for this show 😅

The possibility of not getting my period is one of the main reasons why I went for a copper IUD. I'd literally never be able to relax about it if I didn't get a period! I'm just super grateful to have a nonhormonal option that doesn't allow for user error, and that I sort of won the genetic lottery for getting a pretty light/noncrampy period naturally. For me, slightly heavier bleeding and cramping is 100% worth that kind of security for 12 years!

Highly recommend investing in pregnancy test strips. You'll get 100 for like $15 and can use 2 or 3 of them at once to check yourself. Contrary to popular belief, the strips are super easy to use and read; the idea that your tests need to cost $20 apiece and say "NOT PREGNANT" is all marketing!

Copper iuds have a higher failure rate that hormonal ones so just be aware of that going into it. Also there are plenty of people who still get periods with hormonal iuds.

@@norakelley5112 those are good points! For me, the difference in efficacy (99.2% vs 99.8%) was negligible. The possibility of not getting a period at all or getting unpredictable spotting/bleeding (20% get no period) just wasn't worth it for me. Of course, for some people the chance to have little to no bleeding would be a great thing!

Props to the dad!!! He chose to trust his wife. I can understand him having a split moment of doubt, but he dismissed it and kept his faith in his wife; knowing that she would never cheat, and hurt him and their family. Usually something like this would destroy a marriage. But I believe that you have just made yours even stronger. God bless your family.🙂

so happy to hear you in the position you are in saying not every mama has that starry eyed feeling as soon as she has her baby, for me with my first I pushed for 2 hours so I was just so relieved when he was finally here. and I pushed for 4 minutes with my second and she screamed like a bantchy until I have her a bottle and I was like God is she always going to be like this!?😅 she was... but shes 9 months now and it's just her little attitude and her excitement from hearing her voice when they're little potatoes it takes a little while for me to get that bond but now I have so much patients and love for them I wouldnt change a single thing.

I do prenatal massage and when I book those clients I always allow a lot of extra time, both for the fact that they may need to get up during the massage to use the restroom (and I don't want that to take away from their time on the table), and because more often than not thanks to pregnancy brain they are running just a little bit late. LOL I love my soon-to-be mamas though, so I don't mind budgeting in wiggle-room for their care. ♥

Yup I bought a huge pack for about $15 that I keep just in case because I know that birth control isn't 100% effective. Granted I don't think I can have kids because I take birth control and I have pcos and hypothyroidism but better safe than sorry.

It is a legal requirement to disclose the failure rate during the consultation for vasectomy. My husband's doctor made sure both of us were informed.

I’m happy you say that people may not have that immediate attachment. I was told 10 years ago I was unable to have kids. Exact words, “you realize you will never have children Shila”? I was with my ex for years and never had a scare. My boyfriend and I now are expecting a baby boy. I feel like I’ve been in so much shock it won’t sink in. I’m happy to know I’m not alone. This couple is so wonderful, I love that they have so much love for one another and that they were able to work through something so unexpected and emotional as not only having a baby when you didn't even know one of you was pregnant the day before, but also working through the potentially negative feelings they may have been experiencing because of their specific situation where the husband had undergone what they thought to be a successful vasectomy.
