They are making huge profits. Even flops like solo made a lot just not as much as was expected. The trilogy made a huge amount despite the negative reviews and reactions. Mandolorian was a big success and allowed numerous spin offs. As long as the money flows she is safe.

That 30 second scene where Obi-Wan saw a homeless 501st clone trooper being ignored by the Stormtroopers and still gave him money was an extremely powerful character moment, it used the past history of the Prequels to it's advantage and built on it, unlike the rest of the drivel. It can't have been easy for Obi-Wan to do that as that clone trooper probably stormed the Jedi Temple and probably recognized Obi-Wan, but still didn't turn him in. If only this show knew to develop Obi-Wan, give him an arc to bridge the Episode 3 Obi-Wan into the warm but secretly pragmatic Episode 4 Obi-Wan.

I’m starting to think we aren’t actually going to get any flashbacks of Ewan and Hayden… this episode could’ve been the perfect episode to do that in with Kenobi in the bacta tank, but instead they rushed forward with the story. Plus it could’ve explained Kenobi getting intuned with the force again, allowing a rematch between Vader and Obi Wan to make sense. I really am starting to dislike these Disney+ shows because they drag out the wrong plot lines, while rushing/cutting the crucial ones.

The fight choreography when Tala escapes from those two Stormtroopers was so damn bad. She literally slaps one of the stormtroopers in the helmet then tried to grab the chin of the other stormtroopers helmet but the actress mistakenly misses the first grab and had to correct herself. I just finished watching Stranger Things 4 and that season shits all over this show lol. They completely ace what Obi-Wan show is trying to do (but failing miserably) with Obi-Wan's character (his PTSD, disconnect to the Force, lack of self confidence etc) with the character Eleven and how she too has PTSD, loses her powers and her confidence and has to struggle to get them back. Except with Stranger Things; theyre able to properly convey these things with Eleven without making her insufferable and stupid. This Obi-Wan show is written and directred so poorly lol

I LOVE Alex's demeanor this entire episode because he encapsulated my own feelings when I watched the show. At some point, you just gotta enjoy watching the flames eat the wrecked car since this is what it amounts to. The question is, if "The Path" can be this easily compromised, why would the network (aka, the fledgling Alliance) NOT be prepared to evacuate it and relocate? They should have a backup plan, just like the Rebellion on the OT.

idk man... I've been intensely trying to cope with a bunch of dumb things in every episode. I think this one just happen to be the dumbest one by far and it peeled the copium lens from my eyes. Just one example: Vader dragging Kenobi through fire before force pushing him away and with it taking out the fire... then Tala reignites the fire... now vader goes full-dumb dumb and no one can get through the fire or go around it whilst a slow droid picks up Kenobi and wisks him away to safety. For this I thought (and many others) "He must want to hurt him in other ways... Let him go and haunt him. Make him feel terror and fear of losing whatever it is he has left" NOPE. Episode 4 clearly showed us that Vader meant to hold on to Kenobi and big surprise, REVA was the one with the plan. So clearly, we're lead to believe Episode 3 Kenobi's escape via Tala+Droid was indeed believable and meant to be written as such. So yeah, I'll keep watching for my own curiosity. But I DO believe this episode was overall a finished product and where they wanted to go with everything. This is what you get when the story itself is complete garbage, filled with 90% of things no one cares about or poorly done. Then 10% Vader and Kenobi doing things we like. Even then you've got the example I just gave which strips some of that away. Even if the next two episodes blow my mind, this show as a whole doesn't deserve anything over 5/10. As it stands, I give the show as a whole a 3 tops.

1. Yeah that is really weird, like they've made a point of needing access codes to even enter the system in other stuff before. Although tbf the fortress has been infiltrated like 3 times by a Jedi now so hey it's not out of the realm of possibility. I also think Reva was good with just capturing Obi in the hanger and just let it play out once the speeders showed up. Remember she wants to go up the ladder, so she wants the bigger fish to seal the promotion. Obi is a vanity project that will only please Vader. Bringing down an underground railroad along with a major rebel cell and potentially more Jedi is a much more impressive feat. 2. Eh stormtroopers have always been useless in Star Wars. I think it's more odd Reva didn't just kill her once the alarm went off. At that point the jig was truly up. However once again she wanted them to be able to escape if possible. Like she was not buying the whole double agent thing at all and only listened to see if she could gain some actual info. Which she did, she learned that there are actually imperials helping them out plus the path does actually exist and isn't just a rumor. I actually liked this screen because Reva didn't buy any of the "I'm a double agent" story. 3. Well Leia did technically know a little because she overheard the conversation between the spy and Obi. She at least knew that Voss is alive, the name of the planet that they are hiding on and that the officer is a spy. So she did have a bit to gain. Also she was caught in the company of Obi, a spy and basically traveling the path. So yeah I think Reva had a pretty good reason to think she may know something. Plus she's an inquisitor, she doesn't give a shit Leia is just a kid if she thinks there is an angle why wouldn't she use it. Also Leia was saying "I'm not going to tell you anything" which translates to "I know something I'm just not saying".

My favorite part of this episode was the fact that it took 4 strikes of Obi-Wan's lightsaber to kill the first stormtrooper in the rescue scene, that's literally what nerfed videogame character looks like.

I always thought this series was gonna be Obi Wan trying his hardest to not have his cover blown... not this... You're telling me that a Vader that knows Kenobi has some sort of connection with the Organa family wouldn't come down on that entire royal family hard? @@easadventures1349 That's sort of my point, they could have leaned into the fact that the senate was still around much harder by having Reva go completely rogue not telling Vader or the other inquisitors anything about about what she's doing including the kidnapping exactly because the inquisitors knows fucking with the senate would piss of the emperor himself... and because Reva is rogue she wouldn't even tell anyone else she is closing in on Kenobi allowing him to maintain his cover despite having an inquisitor on his ass. But nah Reva brings Leia to Vaders HQ and there's no one voicing any concerns. Or are you saying kidnapping the Organa crown princess is okay but Vader putting the screws to the Organa family back on Alderaan is somehow not? But sure let's entertain the idea that Vader and Sidious wouldn't do anything despite knowing the Organa family has a connection to Kenobi because of political reasons (which i think is just not what would happen). They sure as hell would have made a move on the Organa family way before the senate was completely dissolved in a new hope so it breaks cannon either way.

@@mathewwong1415 It's Kathi-Wan Kennodi's fault she's head of Lucasfilm, mainly. Would another studio releasing her films/shows let her do a such bad job as what's going on under her watch? Perhaps they would've, Warner Bros. hasn't been great with their releases over the past 18 months, in the way of releasing films day and date with HBO Max in 2021, their TV shows mainly have been laughable, Universal hasn't done that great with Fast 9 critically and Jurassic World: Dominion not being all that it thought it was amongst other content they've put out. Paramount haven't been too bad with their films, but some of the TV content like Picard season 2 and Halo haven't been great (Discovery season 4 was boring as hell to me, miles worse than Picard season 2). So KK to me has to get the boot as head of Lucasfilm. If she stays and seemingly isn't challenged on what content is put out then the little amount of IP Lucasfilm has will be truly broken under her leadership.

This is literally the only thing I ever wanted from Star Wars. An Obi Wan show or movie that had similar vibes to something like Logan. A darker and grittier story that really dove into the character of Obi Wan and how Order 66 effected him and the immense guilt he feels from it. But then something happens where he needs to take action and through that adventure he learns to hope again. Relearning his purpose and watches over and protects Luke and Leia. But no. We just get another Disney+ Star Wars show. That just so happens to be called Kenobi. Literally the best thing that this company has done with the license was the first season of Mando and that’s fuckin it.

Episodes 1-3 should have been recusing Leia, that's it 3 episodes rescued. 4th should have been Ben retraining and getting back into fighting shape. 5th should have been him vs the inquisitors. And final 6th episode should have had him and Darth Vader actually fight, like a good long lightsaber battle with Ben escaping before Vader can kill him with help from Ahsoka. That would have been amazing! This series has been a huge disappointment, and it's like HOW!? You got a huge budget and the original cast like wtf, I've seen better star wars fan films/stories than this.

What I find weird is that obi-wan mention that he must train Luke when he gets older but what has obi wan been doing to maintain his light saber or his Jedi force for him to pass the skills of a Jedi to Luke (his original plan) so If he lost his skills of fighting , how would he teach Luke the force or fighting? I don’t know. Doesn’t make sense. It would had been cool he was still training to and still getting stronger just in case he has to protect Luke or himself from the empire but no.

At first I was finally excited to see Vader out of this garbage episode and I was ok with his scene but now thinking about it that isn’t how Vader is. In Empire when captain Needa lost the millennium falcon and said he would apologize to Vader, Vader choked him to death. He also choked admiral Ozzel for coming out of light speed to close to Hoth. This was worse, Reva had both Leia and Obi Wan in the fortress and failed to capture him, letting him escape. Besides he hates the inquisitors if not more than he hates officers so he would really have choked the life out of her regardless if she put a tracker. Honestly feel so bad for Ewan and Hayden for coming back to this, the fans love them but the writers screwed this up for them.

Obi-Wan Kenobi could have been about him in the desert trying to connect with qui-gon, conversing with yoda through him. If they wanted a baby sitting episode it could have been saving Luke. He's there to protect and train Luke. They could have had a pod racer moment or when Luke shoots wamp rats he crashes or his speeder breaks down and obi-wan saves him from sand ppl or the sar lac pit. It would have been more true to the lore and 10/10 better even if it was "boring!" They could have had Obi-Wan helping that jedi get off world. Get caught out by the inquisitors or Vader and we still get all the action scenes off world.

What would have been better is if they hadn't set the story after revenge of the sith. I just really don't think there's much of an interesting story to be told here, considering we know what Obi-Wan's doing in A New Hope. I think a show about him being a desert hermit would just be way too slow paced and boring. But clearly a show about him going on some type of useless adventure is also not the answer. So either set it in a different time period, or don't do it at all. But then again they need to make at least 750 Morbillion dollars to meet their Star wars quota for the year. Might as well just slap together an Obi-Wan Kenobi show in like 4 months and then call it a day.

Imagine you're Hayden Christensen. You get called in to play Anakin Skywalker, ANAKIN GOD DAMN SKYWALKER after HOW many years only for THIS. A medium shot cameo, some shots in the tank, and a FEW scenes in the suit where now we aren't even sure who's who because there are STUNT DOUBLES.....When we could have had a deep, emotionally driven, character study of Anakin's journey into the dark, his journey into fully becoming Darth Vader where he is trying to separate Darth Vader from Anakin Skywalker something he clearly always struggled to do, thanks to people like Ahsoka Tano and Luke Skywalker being in his life. MEANWHILE Obi-Wan Kenobi is trying to find his way back to the light. A show of mirroring, parallels, something Star Wars is FOUNDED on-it's all a poem it all rhymes. But NO. We get THIS. We just get WHACKY SPACE ADVENTURES. And to say that "oh you were expecting too much" NO WE FREAKING WEREN'T. They set us up to expect Clone Wars flashbacks by hyping the return of Hayden NOT JUST as Darth Vader, BUT ANAKIN SKYWALKER. They set us up to think this WOULD be an emotional story via the trailer. They set us up to think we'd get Clone Wars flashbacks IN THE DAMN SHOW BY HAVING HAYDEN APPEAR AS A HALLUCINATION. That's called Chekov's gun people. But no it's never fired. It's never used. Because this writer doesn't know how to write. He doesn't know Star Wars. He kept calling Filoni asking what was available to do for canon or what wasn't. What don't you even know the basics?! Why hire someone with no SW experience?! With almost no writing experience for something like THIS? When Filoni and Favreau are right there?! I hope to GOD Dave Filoni let's Hayden just GO OFF as Anakin, in the _Ahsoka show_ he's the head of, because this was the ONE time where he could have shown EVERYONE what he's capable of when NOT under George Lucas' directing. And he doesn't even get that shot. Normally there's no second first impression. He got that but....Why even bring him back? What to bait the audience? If you're not gonna do the man justice don't even bother. Just wait until something LIKE _Ahsoka_ or a Darth Vader centered show where he can see his old apprentice as a Force Ghost, where he is the ACTUAL focal point like he should've been, where someone like I don't know Filoni will actually respect the lore and the history of these characters. After everything he went through with the prequel hate.....Just for this. To return to Star Wars not with a BANG but... I'm infuriated. I'm disappointed. If you like the show, that's great. But do NOT look down on people who thought the obvious was and should have happened, do not look down on those who do not like the show. Did i miss something? This whole series feels like a giant plot hole. Reva just seems to have knowledge no one else does, she captured Leia to draw out Obi Wan, but how does this random senator's daughter connect in any way to Obi Wan? I know this was brought up already but how does Reva know Vader's identity? Only few people are supposed to know that (Thrawn, Palp and Vader, maybe Moff Tarkin?). Why is Reva interrogating Leia about the location to a place she has never been and has no connection to? Did she forget she abducted her? But she is calling her a Jedi sympathizer? They know this is Organas daughter so why not go to Alderaan and snatch the whole family to draw Obi Wan out? Also this episode gave me MAJOR Last Jedi flash backs of pointless side plots. Felt like the casino scene to me. Why did Vader spare Revas life? She still failed, you have other inquisitors, just kill her and let the brother handle it, clearly Reva is too impulsive.

I'm more or less annoyed that Disney can't set a minimum standard of watch time per episode. episode times ranged from 55 Mins - 35 Mins. If it's a 6 episode series make each episode 45-60 mins at least.

The whole "keeping jedi in cells" think is from Rebels. In Rebels though, the jedi were fucking DEAD though, like an emaciated corpse, but when looking at it from the outside they looked alive. I don't know WHY they didn't show this in this show, but the Jedi are basically kept there as a dark side trap to lure in other jedi to save them by basically using the dead body as an attuning rod to call to them through the force as if they've been captured and need help. It's a variation on the thing the grand inquisitor said, "A jedi cannot help but follow the code, like an itch". Jedi are predictable and will predictably try to rescue captured comrades.

It's not that Jedi are predictable. It's just that the writers are screwing it up. Here is a basic Jedi scene to make a Jedi look really cool: Darth Bane and his dark apprentice Zannah are on the run from Jedi. They land onto a planet and hide. During this time, they bring in reinforcements to protect them and their cause. 8 Inquisitors who all have light sabers, 4 mercenaries equipped like the Mandalorian, and 1 rogue Sith warrior join Bane and Zannah. Meanwhile, the Jedi begin a council to pick twelve warriors to take down the Sith. As the tenth Jedi Master gets chosen, a figure walks into the room. The Jedi gasp horror. All eyes are on him. Its Ubs. Ubs is the most powerful Jedi swordmaster and is feared by Sith. "What are you doing here?" "Y'all sending in too many bodies. This party is meant for me. I'm the one that's invited." After the Jedi back down, Ubs goes alone. None of the twelve Jedi go with him. Upon arriving at the base, Ubs breaks down the door and all human Sith troopers stare in horror and shock at the force that Ubs had commanded to storm the base. Darth Bane, unfamiliar with Ubs, says, "How much of a fool are you? Do you jest?" Ubs grins, proceeds to destroy the 8 Inquisitors with ease. The Rogue Sith Warrior -- who was hired by Darth Bane -- goes, "Holy sh*t..." Then the rogue Sith warrior gets wrecked before he flees in fear. Darth Bane grins. "Who is this one? Which Sith order do you hail from?" Ubs chuckles. "Who said I was a Sith?" Darth Bane raises an eyebrow: So a wanderer in the Force? Ubs: No. I'm a Jedi. Bane: Lies. Jedi are not as powerful as you are. Ubs: Thats because I'm the only who trains all the time. Still training to this day. Zannah: Training? You dont need that. Ubs: You never stop learning. Besides, I plan on becoming the King of Jedi AND Sith soon, so, I need to make sure I constantly grow my power. Zannah chortles, then laughs out loud: King of Jedi and Sith? You're mad! Ubs: I stay mad -- even when I came out the womb. Made the doctors run away and my mom toss me against the hospital wall. Zannah: This one is surely different! Let me have him master! Bane chuckles: Go ahead.... Zannah unleashes her light saber. See? A basic scene to make a Jedi look cool. It just depends on whose writing the story.

Two things you guys missed: 1. Reva apparently put the tracker on the droid during the ~5 seconds she was holding it, which she wasn’t expecting? 2. When the single speeder docks with the ship they get out and the guy is surprised that the other pilot isn’t there. Uhhhh… he didn’t notice that only one speeder flew up to his ship? They didn’t talk to him on comms during that whole time?

I can only suspend my disbelief so much, I mean come on dude, how can you not notice only 1 ship docking on your ship? 45 years of cinema right down the tubes, things will never be the same after this guys. You know for a second, I thought he would see that one was missing. But when the door on the ship closed I thought to myself "I'm a stupid bastard, and I think I found my bullshit reason to go write a comment on KZbin along with my butthurt buddies" to think I almost missed a chance to hate Star wars. You don’t earn profits in streaming from people signing up for 1-2 months and then canceling their subscription. Tons of people who are watching this were already subscribed to Disney plus. Of course it brought in new subscribers but not nearly as many as you think. It’s easy to cash grab with a film. You have your budget and as long as you make over that budget (factoring in distributor% and marketing) you’re already in the profitable range. It’s much harder to do that with a show. More content being added for the same 7.99 a month price isn’t a cash grab. This is basic microeconomics 101.
