God gave us glutes for a reason, and yes, I've been working my glutes, and it's helped strengthen my lower back, and has decreased my lower back stiffness and pain. I'm a 43 year old man, and I train my glutes even more than I did in my 20's and 30's, because men are known to have lower back issues; especially when you're a man over 40. I highly respect guys who workout their butt muscles, because it'll benefit them in the long run. It's not a good looking physique to have a big upper body, but have skinny legs and a flat butt, not a good look at all, and my wife's happy that my body's evenly balanced. Obi, much respect to you, bro! I wish I could train with you, because you really know your stuff!

Guys don’t be ashamed to train glutes !! They are one the biggest and strongest muscles in the body and help generate immense, explosive power and reduce injury. Your lower back and other lifts will thank you later. Appreciate this video and content you make brotha Obi 💯

RDLs, deadlifts, squats are all hardest in the bottom position (flexed) but the glutes contribute most the hip extension in the top (extended) position. The hamstrings and adductors produce most hip extension torque at bottom. I’d recommend taking out sumo deadlifts and adding in 45 degree back extensions. That way you do a hinge exercise in vertical position (RDL), 45 degree position (back extensions), and horizontal position (hip thrust).

I just tried doing the Single Leg RDL in the gym, and it's a really hard workout, but I felt it in my glutes. I need to improve my balance, and I practiced without any weights, and moved up to 15 lbs dumbbells. I hope to improve my foundational balance soon, because I want to perfect this workout.

Question, the single leg RDLs, you recommend sticking to lighter weights? Loved the content as always much appreciated
@Noop2752 жыл бұрын
For me it’s easier to focus on engaging the muscle and squeeze with lighter weight, so I would stick to lighter weights as I figure that is the meaning behind this exercise
