I second that .. I'm a sucker for turn of the century curiosities and tales relating to graveyards and such.. You cover many such topics as well as other .. er... oddities..So your channel is well up my alley.. Unforrtunately "what's trending" is always a selection of the lowest common denominator :sigh: And yes, I noticed that survey was biased to only providing a negative response.. of course it was designed that way so that they could get the response they wanted.. common in weighted surveys. Very few are designed to honestly find out the real publics' opinions, as I'm sure almost *everybody* knows .. I wouldn't trade your channel for 100 of those ones ever....

My dearest Oddie, I’m so sorry KZbin doesn’t appreciate your work as much as the videos that lack substance or intellect. Why makeup and unboxing videos get so many views is beyond me. Anyone can sit in front of a camera and film themselves opening a box. But your videos clearly take hard work, talent, research, and dedication. As a long-time fan, I certainly appreciate and enjoy your content. I sincerely hope you do not get discouraged enough to stop making videos. And, by the way, as of the time of my comment, this video is still monetized. I was actually quite pleased to see the adverts, and I always let them play on my favorite small KZbinrs’ channels, such as yours. Thank you for the vids, and keep up the good work! My great grandmother died at a very young age from TB. My grandmother said that they had to keep her hidden away in an attic room to keep her home and away from the TB home's that had horrifying conditions. My grandmother has been gone many years now but she told me she was very young when her mother died and that she suffered a long painful death and that they laid her out in their parlour and she remembers cats screeching that night and it terrified her. They had a small farm in a very rural area in the southern United States. I believe Tennessee. So Happy to see a video from you Oddy hope you and your family are well.

The Father also must have been most upset to know his Family were being treated in that manner. I lived on Tomaquag Rd in Ashaway for awhile & graduated from Chariho. Sarah Tillinghast is a much better story than Mercy Brown in my opinion, you should definitely research that case. To answer your question basically yes, it was the same situation with the exception of the townspeople of Exeter had to persuade Mercy’s father to exhume her where Sarah’s father did it on his own. Look up Michael Bell, his book Food for the Dead & his website Vampires Grasp has all the info you need

Oh my goodness! I’m not “tech-savvy” at all and had no idea YT/G did this sort of thing! I never look at anything trending because it’s just nonsense that I have no interest in. Maybe I’m too old for YT, but some amazing content creators are producing outstanding videos full of history, mythology, true crime, and John/Jane Does that are, IMHO, worthy of trending rather than makeup or watermelons or whatever nonsense is popular right now. I do not blame you for moving your platform away from here at all and I’m thankful you are speaking out about this. So many other creators have/are/will go through this until another platform emerges (not TikTok...based on the ads on YT alone it’s a copycat of their “trending” section-no thank you!) to encourage and host creators who are passionate about what they post instead of these pre-teen/teen/young adults looking for their “15-minutes”. Thank you for staying true to your passions and sharing them with us. As a fan, I fully support you. ✊❤️🙂 BTW, I noticed some comments from a year ago, but I was just notified. It's very strange... 😐

Yes I remember my great grandmother born in 1912 said "consumption" killed her entire young family except her. Husband and daughter (and a previous daughter was killed by what we think was meningitis). She married at 15 and was a childless widow by 19. Married my great grandfather at the ripe old age of 24 and luckily all her children lived from that marriage and was married for a little over 60 years(!). But man what a terrible thing to have gone through her first marriage. In the end, of the 2 children, boy and girl, she had in her 2nd marriage, she outlived the boy too by 4 years at 94. He died at 64. So only one child survived her. :( She was tough as nails though...for a while there I thought she'd outlive us all.

Top notch as usual , Oddie ! Thank goodness TB is not heard of much now days. 6 years ago my parents were entering a nursing facility and they had to have a physical first. Mom passed but Dad kept failing the TB test. The doctor finally figured out that my Dad is considered a latent TB carrier. He is not contagious. He is 88.

That rewards thing IS extremely biased. I'm "old", in my 50s, and not ONE of those agencies wants to hear my views, although I watch KZbin for 12 or more hours a day, every single day. I've never been accepted for any of these surveys.

I loved this video, very interesting story. I always get scared that I’m gonna look up your channel one day and it won’t be there. KZbin is making it so hard for people who make this kind of content to get promoted and paid, its very concerning. I also love the irony of your content not being “advertiser friendly” but then I watch a video and a horror movie ad pops up 😂. Glad your speaking out about this, don’t let them get to you. Your content is amazing and there is definitely an audience of people who love this kind of content and want to see it made and the creators behind it paid. ♥️

Haunting but fascinating piece. My grandmother had TB when she was a young woman. She lived in a three-sided bungalow for three years and received natural remedies as the weather filled her room. Luckily she survived - and as an opera singer she was worried she might lose her voice. She didn't and continued to sing until the end of her life. I love your special effects art work in this piece.....subtle but respectful. Thanks OO :)
