We had this growing up during Christmas time. We would get them from Dewey‘s bakery in NC. We would drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the top when reheating.

Great recipe . My first taste of this cake. Absolutely love ❤️ it . So does my husband who always prefers savoury to sweet stuff. He had 3 pieces ! Thanks for sharing this fab recipe .

If you have time visit the "Winkler" bakery in Old Salem NC. Taste the original and thank me later.

Pretty good! I used less cinnamon than this called for... It should be more of a SUGAR cake and less of a coffee cake... a light sprinkle is all you need. Also- caution on the potatoes... These dried flakes continue to absorb moisture. I think the real deal produces a better flavor and texture.

Thank you! Would love your recipe if you have one! This particular one was given to me by an elderly gentleman many, many years ago. It was his Mother's.
