Absolutely in my top 3 , just perfect. One of those albums that stayed on the turntable for weeks on end .I’m a huge prefab sprout fan , waited eagerly for every release and played the hell out of them .Paddy what a genius

I must admit, I'm 26 and this is the first time I've heard a song that has moved me to tears in at least 5 years. I'm absolutely stunned by Prefab Sprout's music after only being introduced to them about a month ago. This song in particular is beautiful. Shamefully I would have only known them previously from the King of Rock 'n' Roll!

Errh,i don't think so.No connection at all in any way.Mccartney has proper memorable melodies in loads of different styles and unbelievable ideas.Mcaloon very limited,all the songs a great big nothingness mush of bloodless wet 'emotion'.

Probably one of my favourite Prefab Sprout song ever (and there are many fantastic tracks !! ) and possibly my favoutite ever song. Reminds me of Summer 1985, my mate Phil Brough picking me up for work at the pit in his VW Scirroco and having this on cassette on the way .... The depth of emotion in the vocal is unsurpassed on any other song - particularly the venom of ' my strained respect' - best song ever ? The man is a genius.

Steve McQueen is a fantastic album, which surprised me because I loved 'Swoon'. Paddy and the band are much missed lately. Bonny and Hallelujah are my fave tracks on this album. Good idea to turn the lights off!

What a wonderful song. First time I've heard it for a long time. Got quite emotional. I was, for a moment, 19 again and right back in my little flat in Victoria. This album is so good. At the time it was of a small collection I had which included Songs to Remember by ScrittiPolitti, Speaking in Tongues by Talking Heads and the titular Suzanne Vega. Happy sad days,
