The closer it gets to the race, the more anxious and nervous I am. Can't wait to get it done and complete my Trifecta!

Great job! Been a few years since I ran it, no swim with Tarzan? Man I used to ski there in the old days glad to hear it’s being bought by skiers. Epic.

Right on! And we're interested to see what impact the buyout might have on future races up there (if any). Maybe the new owners might want changes or might not want to have races there anymore? Who knows...

Hi, actually app hanger wasn’t there. For some reason they took this obstacle out of the race. Ultra loop this year was extremely hard. I have lots of fun Saturday great weather great people nice day. Finished second overall. You guys are awesome

Booooo on Spartan for not having it there! And CONGRATULATIONS on your finish! That's awesome!!!

I am soooo jealous. Not having races in MN is killing me. I need goals to stay in shape.
@OCRKings2 ай бұрын
Totally agree. It's so hard to stay motivated without a race or an event to train for. Tough time of year coming up with the colder months and the holidays. It's easy to get comfortable and become a couch potato. That's what I'm worried about, anyway.

Ape Hanger made a rare appearance in Asheville last year. And that was in the Super! It was a stripped down version - no rope to get to it (just steps); no water to fall into.
@OCRKings2 ай бұрын
That's pretty cool. More Ape Hanger, please! Even if it has no water, I'll still take it.

@@OCRKings It was a good “starter” Ape Hanger for someone who had never encountered it before.

Ultra loop took me out two years ago. Now 16k of elevation doesn’t seem so bad lol amazing what 2 years and countless races can do for your physical abilities. That ultra medal is mine. And I can’t freaking wait for Ape Hanger at another spot! See you in November!

Awesome, good luck out there my friend! Have a great run, and get that Belt Buckle! See you in November, that's going to be quite a day. Can't wait

No Ape Hanger, that sucks. Wonder why they had it on the map then took it away. And yeah, the climbs there are brutal!

This is year two for the ape hanger at Killington. I had to help disassemble it last year, with the volunteers. No water though.
@OCRKings2 ай бұрын
How is it, taking apart that thing? Is it a big pain to disassemble?
@jamessullivan7312 ай бұрын
@@OCRKings I was a huge pain! The Spartan staff have a couple guys who are allowed to climb the exterior of the rig and pull the pins, untie ropes and cables and such. But it's really kind of tedious because it comes down in about 6 stages, whereas, the other obstacles come down or go up easy, in about two stages. After taking part, I understand why it doesn't show up at every race. It takes a while, a lot of hurry up and wait, while the people allowed to climb it bring parts down.

If length of course was the same, which do you find more challenging, Spartans or Tough Mudders. I did the tristate Beast 2 years ago and the Pittsburgh Tough Mudder Infinity 2 weekends ago (finished with 16 miles), so I have experience with both. Just wanted your opinion.
@OCRKings2 ай бұрын
Great question!! Side by side, say Beast vs. TM Infinity, I would definitely go with Beast as the harder of the two, esp. if you put the Beast on Mountain Creek or Killington. And of those two, Killington blows Mountain Creek away as far as difficulty with the terrain. If you put an Infinity and a Beast on the same flat course, unless you did a zillinion laps, I would still say obstacle-wise, the Beast would be harder. My opinion anyway. What are your thoughts?
