The panther is derived from the t34 design the armor was so good they made their own version and called it a panther the reason why the t 34 85 has trouble with its armor is simply because it’s not enough at the battle rating you first get the t34 chassis at 3.3 where it’s armor is really good but the t34 85 is at a higher be where it’s armor is horrendous but still good bc it can still take a round or too if it needs to depending on the situation and it’s slim and low profile with high fire power

Just for the record Odd, that 135mm pen round can ufp a jumbo and a panzer 4/70 at close range. It is the ultimate noob counter for ppl who play those tanks and think they're invincible

Personally I think it's fine at 5.7. The tank had genuine mobility and a gun that workable with amazing angled pen and damage when pen happens. Yeah you can't get shot but you also can't in a Sherman. The 85 is actually a great vehicle, it just sucks in long range maps but everyone does against Germany at this br

When I was spading the Chinese T 34-85 (5.7), which consisted mainly of 6.7 matches, that 85mm, even with the apcr, made penetrating Tigor II Hs, the tank I generally encountered, very difficult; side shots only.

@@jayklink851 You shouldn't even bother fighting a Tiger II H from the front. its just not going to go well unless you mange to take their barrel out. I always just wait for them to turn their turret a little and smack them in the rear turret ammo rack.

There is actually evidence supporting beds on a t34 85. I cannot remember where but I heard that there are some viewers that lived in the eastern bloc who saw wire mesh on T34 85s. They were added to protect from HEAT and HEAT FS. And they said some of the mesh was from beds. A cheap stopgap measure Also, odd, how ya doin? I hope you get well soon.

@@ideadlift20kg83 When playing with friends we often call out what we are spawning in so we can spawn things that drive at similar speeds/work together well. When spawning the T34-85 my call out is "I am spawning the bullshitmobile". The way these things eat into angles and the crew seeking shrapnel is just bonkers, plus you have the Stalinium troll armour... Also it confuses me how that 85mm shell sneaks through gaps that a 76mm shell gets volumetric'd on..

Iv bounced 5 times in a row on a panther with the french 90mm cause the panthers turret is modeled with 2 rectangular plates and the french 90mm only has 190 pen... despite the fact 2 plates next to eachother is a weakpoint that the shell would force its way into...

I wish they'd actually review current BR.s and adjust them for the allied tanks. T44, T34 85 and Jumbo 75mm are over BR.d. I wouldn't mind the german br.s as they are now if they did that.

Jumbo 76 is def overtiered, unless that's what you meant to put in to begin with, but I think the 75's more or less fine. The 75mm gun is subpar but workable. Take advantage of your armor to get commander cupolas on things like the Tiger H1, APCR when necessary, through panther turret cheeks for example, track and barrel torture until you can get to their side

@@ideadlift20kg83 Yeah, that 76 gets it into that situation. Too many people think it's an excellent gun, when in most scenarios at 5.0, and above, it is sub-par. Cant handle angles at all and the post pen isn't great. I honestly believe that the 148mm pen works under absolutely perfect circumstances only. Most of the time it's better to assume you only have 120mm pen at point blank.

Handheld antitank weapons were just shaped charges, they exploded on impact pretty easily, so this would be pretty effective actually.

impact with a certain pressure, bed frames no matter how stiff wont cut it also they are not far enough away from the tank to provide armor from what would have been a notable hit, for glancing hits it might simply shrug it off with no detonation witch would be a positive with the down side of increasing the silhouette

Your play style is an enigma to me. You play aggressively but clever and seem to get away with A LOT! I've not got the hours invested that you no don't do but, I am getting yeeted almost every game after maybe 1 - 2 kills. And that's me trying to play a bit sneaky (shadows and cover). Practice makes better maybe? My ping is normally quite atrocious as well (ranging from 170 to 300), I don't think that helps me much. Awesome to watch what's possible getting done by a seasoned and skilled player.

For the bedframes to be effective, they would need something on the inside. Chainlink fencing on M113s or the PBR my coworker commanded in Vietnam as protection from RPGs. Horizontal and metal bars are used with modern vehicles. EDIT: I see that Gaijin did model what is within the bedframes. You just can't see the wires until the camera zooms in very close.

I can't find any photos from Berlin, but many sources claim real beds were sometimes used. There's no reason it wouldn't have worked, but for official upgrades they'd definitely standardize on much simpler wire mesh.

I love the T-34-85... Is so satisfying and rewarding using the 85mm to one shot enemy Tigers and Panthers. I honestly I think I preffer the 85mm over the american 76mm... This gun is a LOT of fun.

@Muntather Aldamok The 85mm has much better performance against angles. You can penetrate the armor of an angled Tiger I under 500 meters, you can't do the same with the american 76mm.
