I used Odie’s for the first time today on my curly maple end tables I made and they turned out awesome, I went up to 400 grit. I hope to post my video this Friday the 12th of July.

is it okay to apply the odies universal oil with just a non-woven non-abrasive pad? Or is using a fine/ultrafine pad better? Will it make any type of difference?

Using a slightly abrasive pad rated higher than you last sanding has a beneficial impact as you are essentially wet sanding as you are applying the finish helping to further refine the surface as well as create a little more heat in the way of friction thus helping to work the oil into the surface. A non abrasive pad is fine to use and will be effective.

Who sands their wood to 4000 grit? What's it, car paint? Real useful demonstration would be showing the difference between more commonly used sanding grains such as 80-100-120-220-360.

We have plenty of customers sanding to high grit levels and we do have many videos showing various grits. The higher you sand, the higher the sheen. If looking for more of a matte of satin finish keep you sanding grits down in the lower levels

I’m 5 months late, but I personally like to sand up to 2500 grit, which makes Odies the perfect choice of hard wax finish! Sanding this high enables the different grain densities to take on different sheens - a unique look that few take the time to create. Sanding this high is also a great choice for endgrain, since the fine dust clogs the pores the the grain and results in a buttery smooth finish.
