This went beyond booing him just bc he wasn't performing on the court. He was supported by the fans for 2 years. We encouraged him to improve his shooting and free throws and he had it pretty easy. His lack of work ethic and disdain for the game, combined with his unwillingness to play hard in the playoffs was what led to the major backlash against him. Even NBA reporters and commentators expressed negative opinions of him. And what happened when he joined the Nets? He did the same things. And Nets fans were fed up with him after a year.

Ben Simmons has all the talent in the world.. elite athlete at 6'10 with unreal passing skills but he never worked on his game and he was mentally too weak to even attempt open 3s in game. philly fans gave him 5 YEARS of rope and defended him against outside criticism but the Hawks series was the final straw.

Its more common here to see shits that like that. At least in the Boston area, you get a lot of it, whether it’s the dreymond green shirts or the Barstool “Godell sucks” or a clown shirt. Firstly, he didn't actually get 10 years. It's always suspended for stuff like this in the US. Nobody ever gets the full book for anything. He got probation and continued on with his life. Secondly, the arena charges him not the players. The players have nothing to do with it. You're brutally misinformed and/or stupid.
