In 2009, independent video game designer Markus "Notch" Persson released a work in progress that would go on to break every industry rule for achieving success. Part exploratory adventure, part creative building tool, "Minecraft" evolved from a cult classic into an unprecedented hit, raking daily sales in by the thousands. By the end of 2010, Notch was able to quit his day job and live the dream of founding his own development studio, Mojang.
This feature-length documentary follows the young company over the course of its first year as their profile expands across the world stage and into the homes of millions of gamers. Time goes by, and things change. I don't hate the new minecraft updates, but these videos really make you look back at a simpler time. Just you, maybe some friends. And a small, more limited world to explore. Even though you can still play the old versions. Seeing these videos really brings back memories

looking back, I get the impression that these guys were fully aware that what they had was special. They probably got so much work done sitting together making this game a reality out of what we know was pure passion. The thought of a singular game being sold for $2bn is still unheard of, and not many can say they wouldn’t have done what Notch did. But nonetheless I do still look back on this time with nostalgia and intense fondness. At the end of the day these guys were the reason Minecraft became the best selling game of all time, and left their legacy on the game.

This is really emotional if you have been playing minecraft for long. Minecraft - 2009 ( I buy it ) 2011 Beta,Alpha etc 2015 *Notch Leaves* Those days with the secret friday updates and wow. Mojang without Notch isnt Mojang I know alot of you will post in the comments "noob, lol, emotional" But if you were playing it and saw all these big changes then you would feel emotional too. It's funny, I am watching this again in 2018. To realize that coral was a suggestion since 2011 and is now being added into the new 1.13 update. More so it's funny how people talk about first person shooters and so forth... when in all honesty minecraft can be a first person shooter it can be anything you want it to be... that is what makes it one of the greatest games ever made.

Its not all about the graphics that make the game good its the gameplay that makes it good.

The scarecrow idea's recipe needs some improvements. 1. Stuffed Leather Tunic recipe: 2 wheat, 1 leather tunic. 2. Scarecrow 1 Pumpkin, 1 Fence post, 1 Stuffed leather tunic, one tool (a hoe, pickaxe, shovel, axe, sword) and 2 sticks.

They should put guns in minecraft, and make them difficult to create, you would have to create each bullet for it too and make them just as difficult to create, since minecraft seems to be set in medieval times(by default)

Notch left the decisions to jeb sometime in 2012, slowly opting out of development. But for some reference, he started working on it may 2009, and probably crunched through 2 years of development. At that point the game had made so much money he could retire if he wanted to.

Since people are so hungry for new content and given the size of the team I'm sure that Jeb is doing the best he can to please everyone. From my understanding the team is working hard at fleshing out the villagers to be more than just mindless npc's. As far as I'm concerned the game is fine for now and any cosmetic additions are welcome. The millions that are frustrated are that cause they love the game so much that they want more. If only other developers took a tip from the book of Mojang.
