Minecraft was a sinking boat anyways. Edit: Really? That's not how I remember it, a lot of Minecraft KZbinrs started talking about how they were ''burnt out" on Minecraft even before notch sold the game. I guess him selling it didn't help either but it would've died anyways, maybe slower. The reason I know this is because I started playing the game in 2012 and was addicted, my life was nothing but this game. Watched all the good Minecraft KZbinrs like sundee, sky does Minecraft, yogcasts,ant vemon you name I watched it. "Deserves it"? This has to be one of the worst examples of the grotesqueness of capitalism one could possibly imagine. This man develops a mediocre primitive video game that allows millions of dispossessed people across the world to nerd out and literally waste their lives by living vicariously through a pixellated fantasy world in front of a screen, and somehow he 'deserves' to be rewarded by having more money than many countries entire GDP? This is truly disgusting. He didnt innovate something that has helped to improve lives or change the world in any meaningful way. And as far as the 'charities' he contributes to, he admittedly only does this to alleviate his own personal guilt like a catholic who is free to sin, atone and repeat over and over again. These so called charities do little good works. They exist as tax writeoffs for the wealthy and help rich people to feel better about their greed. Most of the money goes to pay the salaries of 'non profit' executives. He is not the only undeserving billionaire, nor the worst, but stories like this really demonstrate who fucked our world really is and how screwed up our values are in the modern world. It's truly disheartening when you think about it. Most people in the world are working harder than this man has a day in his life and they cant afford to eat. He has a $70 million house as a vacation home. I dont support communism in any way, but this is exactly why communism was able to gain popular support.

Simple game? Most games are made from pre-made game engines like CryEngine (Crysis3, Far Cry 3) or Frost Engine (Battlefield Series) or Unreal Engine (Hitman, etc). They are sort of like templates and really the only thing companies making the game have to do is make up the textures, story line, audio, AI. Big corporations also have LOTS of employees assigned to each department. But Minecraft was programmed from Java from scratch. A language that takes years to master and is hell when something doesn't work. After that it takes another couple years to fully get the game working right. Sorry, I kinda went on a rant haha.

The lesson. Anyone can be a billionaire. You might think hardwork and dedication will get you there but sadly its more based on luck than anything else. Also as you can see you can be a billionaire but it wont solve your obesity.

Aww, in light of his recent posts regarding how being rich has cut off his life from being with "normal people", you can see that in this video slightly when he's messing around with his pioneer mixing table you can just feel the sycophants and ass kissers dancing around him encouraging him to do shit like this....there's a sadmess in his eyes. Money don't buy everything kids, his girlfriend from before couldn't deal with his new rich lifestyle and left him for a more "normal" guy. Notch is never again going to be able to just trust that somebody is actually trying to be his friend rather than just suck up to him for more money...that's a pretty damn sad lifestyle when you consider it, he said himself "now that I have everything I have no reason to try any longer and it's hollow and empty"...careful what you wish for kids it may not be the golden cup you thought it would be.
@Plague_Doc229 жыл бұрын
+KevinR1138 Very true. Money doesnt buy happiness. And it gets to a point where if you can literally buy and do anything you want that costs money...theres nothing to work towards. For example if a normal person wants to buy a car, they have to save for years. but once they get the car they have this sense of achievement. he can simply point at 50 cars and walk away and it doesnt hurt his account at all. Its not the same satisfaction.
@Karifouu9 жыл бұрын
+KevinR1138 Maybe but if you have no friends, no girlfriend and no money, then being rich is pretty good, one trouble left. Depend the situation and depend the people around you i think. Can be a nightmare for some people and a dream for other.

vmz1231 Wow, what a load of halfhearted social dissonance and first year psych & debate team 101. I mean first you try to set up a strawman about the cold "facts" of sociological interactions and that money has no effect whatsoever on one's happiness because seemingly you think that "happiness" or any presumptions we have about social experience are a fallacy or "illusion" of psychological/sociological evolution, then you seem to lambaste capitalism as a negative force seemingly because of this money that you originally said has no effect on one's "happiness". If you're going to create strawman argument's for debate you may want to be consistent with your theme. Simply quoting from a cold non-contextual textbook won't get you to the real answer any more than reading an ingredient list will tell you how to make a snickers bar....more is needed.

Just don't think that redstone will carrry over. Also just saying the 1.9 combat changes didnt carry over to bedrock so for the vast majority of pvpers who didnt like that update bedrock may actually be better. sorry for the rant

It is easy for all of us to say, but it is true that we all would love to be in his shoes and we all think that we could handle it, but until we are in his shoes we just don't know. Money can polarize a person's life and make them want to withdraw from something that was fun to them before. Personal sounding attacks by people that don't know what they are talking about (ie. the EULA with MC mentioned here) are a huge problem because EVERYONE acts bigger online than they do in person. In person they tend to check their self because they know they could get hit in the face for being an asshole. I really feel for Markus here because he just wanted to have fun making a game. He got rich doing so and we all love the game, but all of the problems with success forced him to want out. Society can't just let people live their lives. Everyone wants a piece and wants to have a say in something that they know nothing about. Thanks for the video. It is nice to hear Markus' side of things.
