The biggest problem here is the inconsistencies. Sometimes clothes/shells are included, sometimes they're ignored. Some pokemon stick with their evolutions, others are separated to the correct colours. Sometimes the face is the main factor, sometimes it isn't

Also how some of these sprites in Home are way more saturated or different colors from the regular in-game sprites or official art. Like the Abra line. They're a much lighter yellow in the games.

Actually, Applin being green is correct. It’s actual form is all green. The apple is actually not part of it’s biology until it evolves so yes it does make sense as to why it’s categorized as green.

Fun fact: many parts of the world don’t have a word for the colour orange. Even English only gained the term “orange” and started applying it to the colour when the orange fruit arrived from the Mediterranean; things that were orange were called red. I’m not going to claim to be an expert in Japanese, but as someone learning the language I did find it interesting that despite “mikan” being the term they use for the mandarin orange fruit, their term for the colour orange is “orenji” - it is highly likely that the concept of the colour orange is a western thing; thus, like old Englishmen before they saw the orange fruit, orange colours are designated as red. And the word orange has now lost all meaning to me 😝

It was a Naranja, originally an Arabic word. Over time it became a Noranj then finally an orange. It paralleled another quirk in the development of English. At one time you'd try not to get bitten by a nadder. Now you try to avoid the bite of an adder. Yep, an is a newish word hence its bizarre use prior to words beginning with a vowel. English is one of a tiny number of languages with such a quirk.

I'm from England and I still don't consider orange to be a real colour. I've argued with my friends on multiple occasions, but so many board game pieces or video game team colours have a "red" piece that is very much orange, because a fully saturated red would look too harsh (or possibly be too expensive to dye idk), but nobody ever questions it because our perception of colour is all relative anyway. If you have Orange, Blue, Green, and Yellow pieces/teams, people will automatically refer to the Orange colour as "Red" without realizing it. Don't even get me started on Brown, which is literally just Dark Orange.

For the sake of argument; in Japan, blue and green were considered one colour, "ao", for a very, *very* long time. Even after the word for green, "midori," was introduced, plenty of things that are green are still referred to with the word "ao." This more flexible outlook on the two colours can be used to explain bronzor and bronzong: bronze, having high copper content, oxidizes green. Bronzor and bronzong, being an ancient bronze mirror and bell respectively, are obviously oxidized. Thus, the pokemon must be green, despite the colour of the design being what we would call blue. Copperajah vs. vikavolt is the same thing: oxidized copper is green, so the copperajah is green. Vikavolt is *not* oxidized copper, so it's blue. \o/

The Bronzor/Bronzong thing is ridiculous, but there is actually a fun explanation for it: Those two are designed after rusty bronze things (obviously) Bronzor is based on a rusty bronze mirror yo-kai, and Bronzong is based on an ancient bronze bell who's name I can't remember. Being an alloy of copper and tin, bronze "rust" is green, much like the copper used to make it.

im realizing during the blue segment that maybe your tinted glasses are not the best option to wear when judging pokemon based on color. chimeco is like 75% of its body is blue and its clearly just a pale blue. especially if those are the glasses tat help mitigate blue light (theyre the same thing and different its all about frequencies)

If you rob Elgyem of the mint color it is you end up with something akin to grey. Does not explain the Sandaconda take though.... Its based off of a anaconda... there are MASSIVE green patches.

His is navy blue but like dark. His is the swellow honchkrow and murkrow colored navy blueish black. I will die on the hill that those birds blue tint aside should have all been in black cause it was that thing where it's supposed to be black but they gave it a bit of color to make it have that kinda feather glow birds have in the sun. And the one who asked the colors yours is between like a green apple green a true green and a lime green and has that like neon highlighter color brightness to it. So for me it's hard to tell the difference but I am not colorblind so that doesn't answer your question properly XD

maybe a playthrough challenge challenge idea 1: the typelocke, only being able to use a pokemon based on typing an example would be Gliscor a ground flying type you could not have another ground or flying type on your team. challenge idea 2: the type tree when you get your starter you have to pick something it is weak to. So if you picked Sobble a yamper could be your next pokemon. challenge idea 3: the extreme let's play taking the extreme part from an extreme nuzlocke by only being able to catch 1 pokemon per area but they don't "die" when they faint. challenge idea 4: the Wild area challenge. you can only catch pokemon in the wild area no pokemon from routes or towns (starter excluded) plain and simple. challenge idea 5: the route challenge you can only catch pokemon on routes and towns, not the wild area. challenge idea 6: the reverse SE run, you battle the gym leaders with pokemon that have a terrible type match up, for example fighting Bea with normal type pokemon. challenge idea 7: Hop's Challenge, you can only use pokemon used by Hop.
