Billy Squier and Queen. BEST CONCERT EVER!!!! Thank you, Billy! *fun fact - The guy I went to that concert with, oh so many years ago, contacted me a couple of years ago thru social media. He asked for my address, said he had something he wanted to send me. I gave it to him. A few days later an envelope arrived in my mailbox. Inside? The ticket stub from THAT concert! Billy Squier and Queen at the glass house in Portland, OR!! He'd actually held onto our ticket stubs from that show for 40 years, and I was beyond blown away when he gifted me the stub of the ticket I'd used to enter the show on that amazing night!

@@JerryBanks-ug4rq Gotta say, I was stunned! It was such a cool gift, and to think he'd kept them for 4 decades! That's so unreal! Then he sent me a pic of a cork board he had, that had stubs from a bunch of other concerts we'd gone to that summer. He only had his, or he'd have sent me mine from all of the others. It was a magical summer, for sure! We went to probably 15 or 20 shows that summer...Aerosmith, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Motorhead, Saxon, Girls School, Black Sabbath (with Dio), Ozzy (without Sabbath), Devo, Loverboy, Heart, Foreigner, Blue Oyster Cult, Sting, Cheap Trick.... wow, I'm sure I'm forgetting some! I saw him in 1982, in Mobile, Alabama. My best friend and I went to it together. We actually went to several concerts together. Not Peter Frampton or Fleetwood Mac though, we hadn't met yet, she was a grade younger than me. Billy Squier's drummer is hilarious. He went ape shit on them drums. I'll never forget it. The concerts were great at the Mobile municipal auditorium, it was general admission, so if you got there really early, you can get right in front of the stage. I did it every time. One of the places in Dallas had general admission and my boyfriend and I went there for a few concerts. Ted Nugent was one of them. He's great in concert. He did only have his loin cloth on. 😂

I remember being about 17 or 18, so 91 or 92, and this guy in a badass '86 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe with a huge sound system was blasting "The Stroke" as he pulled up to the 1 four way stop light in Kearney, MO at 92 and 33. I stood there and thought "Now that guy is freakin' cool!".... I went and bought every Billy Squire CD i could find at Camelot. Then I was the one blasting Billy Squire in my car!

Had to come back and tell you I listened to the song again right after my above comment, and I will never hear the song the same way again! And that's not a bad thing, for me, meaning now I have another association to go with this song., even though I'm sad that your misfortune resulted in my new association!! The second verse always reminded me of my older sister, as when the song was out, I was just starting to really "learn" about my sister, iykwim. This is my fave Billy song, and I love it even more now!!!

Damn Great world indeed. I didn't have a trans am. But I did have a 1982 Camaro Z-28..I bought the car from my sister in 1986. Her boyfriend was a motorcycle mechanic and liked to go really fast. I was clocked in 1987 coming north on the Florida turnpike going over 130 miles per hour. And Yet, I was already slowing down. I got stopped by the Florida state troopers, and given a huge ticket. I asked my sister about the cars high speed. She said Steve her ex boyfriend had put ultra high gears into the differential, allowing it to go that fast. Great times, great music like Billy Squire. This has been a really great life indeed.i have no complaints about anything at all.

Life isn't easy from the singular side Down in the hole some emotions are hard to hide It's your decision, it's the chance that you take It's on your head, it's a habit that's hard to break Do you need a friend, would you tell no lies Would you take me in, are you lonely in the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark You never listen to the voices inside They fill your ears as you run to a place to hide You're never sure if the illusion is real You pinch yourself but the memories are all you feel Can you break away from your alibies Can you make a play, will you meet me in the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark, ah ah ah Don'tcha need me, hey, hey Don'tcha need me, oh yea Don'tcha need me, hey, hey Don'tcha need me, oh yea You take no interest, no opinion's to dear You make the rounds and you try to be so sincere You guard your hopes and you pocket your dreams You'd trade it all to avoid an unpleasant scene Can you face the fire when you see me there Can you feel the fire, will you love me in the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark In the dark, ah ah ah ah
