It’s amazing how much sh!t you get trying to help people do things correctly and safely. I’ve worked with wrecker operators and crane riggers for years. Even though it’s not my career, I’ve learned a lot of useful things that I can apply to off road situations. You are very good at what you do and give much needed information to the community, thank you. There’s a huge difference between your content and the reality shows of the other off road recovery channels.

You are absolutely correct... I give you 5 stars on using the proper equipment... We are in the marine towing business... And cheap, trying to save money .. Can cost you your vehicle, or even your life ...Use the right equipment for the job...Or move out of the way... And call the man who has the right equipment..And knows how to use it ...Captain Ron

I come across your channel. It is awesome. On this video hites home with me. In 1993 I was a tow truck driver. Did everything from put semis back up that laid it over. One night I was out on a call getting a pick-up out of the center of the hwy. Got them out to the side the hwy. They shut the hwy down it was bad. I been doing this for 8 years. Semi driver left truck stop where I worked he top a hill seen my red lights jack knife his trailer smashed me between the pick-up an wrecker drug me 213 ft under the front of the pick-up flip the wrecker over. I lost both my legs back has 2 steel rods in it. I look at it life lives on. Happens for a reason. I was 29 years old when it happened I am 60 now. I do more then most people with legs. Be careful out there. That is one of the most dangerous jobs out there. Working on the side the Hwy. It happened on I-44 in Central Missouri. I have family lives in Jacksonville Florida. Awesome Channel.

@@OffRoadRecoveryLLC those are the types of enemies that are otherwise irrelevant to you and your life. I dont wanna get all political about it but it's an every day fact of life that even when your teaching people proper procedures your "enemy" will dig their heels in that much deeper. Use THEIR energy as motivation to keep doing what you do because you ARE saving lives!!!! Jesus had alot of enemies too......jus sayin'

Back when I was younger... I couldn't find my hitch pin. I had a bunch.. So I popped in a 1/2" bolt and gave it a small tug trying to unstuck a small forklift in gravel with my c30..... Not too heavy of a load. Gentle tug. Yeah, no, that was dumb. Not only did the bolt bend, pull through, and get thrown a bit (using a big chain).... it also mangled and oblonged the holes for the pin so I had to change out the whole hitch, because I actually do tow heavy with it. 1 sloppy moment = live (hopefully) and learn (hopefully).

Point taken on the tow hitch do's and dont's, going to be order "recovery accessories" for recovery and use my tow accessories for towing and not recovery. I dont want to learn a lesson the hard way and get someone hurt, nice job

on the hitch part don't be scared of the Amazon cheap one, they are solid metal which makes them heavier, the good ones are made from aluminum which makes them lighter but cost more, but its the one item you can be cheap with zero safety issues

Too many times I have seen the proper equipment fail, definitely don't want to use things that aren't designed to do the job, tractors are heavy powerful machines with extra heavy duty parts and I've seen those parts fail and nearly kill people so parts that are made on the cheap are really dangerous and shouldn't be used. Don't risk life and limb when the right equipment is cheaper than an ER visit

granted I am not sure if his product has been tested or not, but Brennans Garage has a product to solve the hitch pin issue in a much better fashion than receiver mount shackles. It is a solid piece of aluminum designed to mimic a hitch and allow a soft shack to be fully supported without sticking out of the hitch receiver itself.

It took a state patrol officer being killed before it became illegal to pass emergency vehicles without at least slowing down if moving over a lane isn't possible. Not sure why this would not be a national thing, hopefully one day it will be.

First all police need to trained , where to park on highways . Many times stopping in unsafe places just to write a traffic ticket is not needed or necessary. Emergencies are not the same as traffic stops . The first thing one learns on most jobs , is this safe if not change it or do not do it !
