The last clip had some good advice for me. I am struggling with focusing on the enemy, probably because still not comfortable with the controls. It is a constant dynamic between keyboard / mouse look / mouse aim. I get to ~60% finished maneuver, then lose the enemy’s whereabouts due to struggling to keep track of them, and spend a few precious seconds to locate them. At that point, the momentum/position is lost.

Use your keyboard for turns and look at your enemy with the mouse for big turns and movements, if you want more fine control (which you won't really need until you start shooting) then you fly with the mouse.

First guy: Press s key and go vertical. You are doing everything in your power to not go vertical against a zero. I don't know why. Second guy: You're not rate fighting, you're making vertical loops trying to play energy while people dive into you from above. If your rate is superior to every other plane in there, rate fight! It makes you less susceptible to dives, and you keep your energy higher in order to actually make dodging maneuvers easier when they dive on you. You're not dodging shit when stalling yourself out. Also don't do fancy shit, if you rate keep it horizontal with slight vertical dips in order to trade speed for altitude to keep a superior turn rate. If you go vertical, don't change your loop. Keep the same loop. Someone who is completing their loop by putting the mouse on your six will gain on you when doing dumb shit. Third guy: No comment. If you struggle that much against a f4s with that plane you should go watch some videos about how to actually use the jet, or any jet for that matter. 4th guy: ????

I don't have a clip of it but the other day I was dogfighting an XP-55 in a Spitfire mk. IIb. It was my understanding that the Spitfire excels at low speed rate fighting, but the XP-55 was out turning me. Speed was about 250kph, altitude was like 50-100 meters at most. What happened? Hi Defyn, what to do against XP-50s in a Fw 190 Dora? I had dived on one whilst he was going low and slow, could not pull in so I started to scissor him. After a very short amount of time, the energy seemed to be equalised (to my untrained eye), and he was very easily able to pull in and slap me out of the sky. Should I have run and reset instead?

You gotta get him fast. At high speed you can out turn and get behind the XP 50

You can run away if he's not way above or already faster than you, or get him FAST (like 600kph+) and then when he compresses you can probably outmaneuver him for a very short time until you both slow down
