I do have a story to tell regarding stretching myself. I have been churched since I was a little girl and are fortunate to have served in many ways. Our pastor was on vacation when the interim speaker for that Sunday cancelled unexpectedly. The worship board on which I was serving was scrambling to find a last minute replacement when I heard myself offer to do this. The board quickly said yes and I thought what have I done? I am a retired ICU/OR/PACU nurse and am accustomed to speaking in front of people but, giving a message in church that will give comfort, support and perhaps some new thoughts to the congregation? Well, I did it!!! The topic came into my head, I went back to some familiar words and it went well enough that I have been invited back. Oh and did I mention that I am 82 yrs old? Never say Never.

My. best ask came when I was the Gardner at an estate, very old and most beautiful, Circa 1654. A TV program noted an upcoming tour of Dutch farmhouses, without mentioning this estate. I called the star of the show and asked them if they were aware of this oversight and was rewarded with air time and a huge thank you The gardens shonethat day!

After shoulder injury and replacement I bought a blow dryer stand. It looks like a microphone stand. One clamps on to a counter and the other is more portsble for travel that uses suction. My arm is so weak for long blow drying. It’s great to be able to use both hands to style. I sit in a chair to dry.

Hi Linda, five years ago I learned about oxalate and lectins in our food. Sally K Norton wrote a book called Toxic Superfoods.Once I started following her program, I no longer have joint pain anywhere in my body. Just by avoiding certain foods. And by the way, I’ve been using my hands in my line of work ( hair stylist)for over 40 years, and thought I would end up with arthritis but I don’t. It would be worth checking out her book and website.

I am going to go to schools and Library's to promote it. I have bought a beautiful blue dress to wear for the events. I planned to make this a "special memory" for all that come to hear the story. It is a lot of work, but I love every moment of meeting new people and exposing myself to this young world of listeners. YOU are an inspiration for me to do what I am doing!!!!! If you will, will you help me promote this book. It has all good life values to learn by. Hey, " It doesn't hurt to ask", right? Thank you so very much!
