FUN FACT: Those disturbing screeching sounds are from Billie; she recorded her dentist drilling her teeth on her phone and told Finneas to put it in the song 😎

Omg I wish I never read this! I was neglected as a child( practicaly Amish) so @ 18 I had my first root canal...didn't numb me completely. Then at 35 had to have a biopsy, the dentist broke off the tip of his drill in my front bottom gums. 3 yrs later still trying to get a dentist that will take insurance that isn't booked 1yr out. Sick u just spent 600+$ and I have an apt next Tuesday 🥺 the sound is the worst!

The dentist recorded and in bad guy was a phone sample recorded of a crosswalk in Australia that her and her mother thought was hilarious. It’s one of the main lead beat in the song bad guy is actually the sound of a crosswalk beeping in Australia.

My step father has been saying that he'll die in the next 5 years for over 20 years. Watching her stumble, then sort of float along on the tips of her toes made me think of something I read about patients who were on heavy anti-psychotics and how they couldn't feel the hands of the people carrying them and thought they were flying. That and the lyrics made me think that maybe this video depicts the perception of someone who is experiencing the way that heavy anti-depression medication twists your view of the world.

She is so eclectic, just by listening to everything she can do and how she can express emotion using only her voice is amazing by itself...but she also does it even when she's singing other people's music. I think she developed that sense of reality as an adult sees it, quite early in her life. She understands and delivers messages about life and human experiences in a very skilled way since very young. At the same time, she also knows how to have fun. That's a way to keep balance, I hope.

I'd really like to see you react to "Listen Before I Go" from this album. It's a pretty dark song, and when it came out I listened to it constantly while my life was falling apart. As dark as it is, it's also probably the thing that kept things from going too far, if you catch my meaning.

The way I related to this song was personal…I have suffered these really hectic nightmares for many years. Just like her, maybe, you feel like these nightmares become more of a friend that cares for you cause they are always there when you fall asleep. It’s always a new adventure and a new horror every time you sleep. Ultimately it’s you who is dreaming so you wonder if you are doing the harm to yourself or your mind is that element of you that’s harming you. So you wanna end that part of you cause you don’t know where you go when you sleep. She could be saying she’s contemplating suicide or she wants to kill this monster that occupies her mind and life while she sleeps. So you can also think she’s seeking help from a psychologist

@Cliff, 😂you made me Crack up laughing when she was in a back bend! Idk if you remember that I had told you about her stunts and she got mad at them for something...OK the part where they all stick needles in her back is what I was talking about...She wanted to find a way to actually do that! And they had to tell her H*** NO Bc it's wayyyy too dangerous so that's the only part of this that she wasn't able to do. And yes she is very different and exceptionally special! She gets sooo much HATE from her videos and they don't even try to get what she is actually talking about so she was like 15yrs old or so when she did this and she was very suicidal at this point 😢 she'd at one point was on tour in another country and she was going to literally go out the window...she said that the only reason she didn't do it was because of her mom. Ps she was a dancer and wanted to be a dancer but she had too many issues with ankles, knees, etc so she really couldn't go that route. But at home all of her life, finneas and Billie had a rule, that if they were working on music in any way, they didn't have to go to bed! So one day Finneas told Billie, I'm going to make you the biggest pop star ever...and they laughed...but when they did Ocean Eye's, which they were really just messing around with, and it started going viral, he was calling her telling her how much it had, etc and she couldn't fathom it at all (she was 13yrs old) at the time..and the rest is pretty much history now and she has been in a good place for a while now and just completely blossomed! I absolutely adore them all! The whole family is absolutely amazing!! Love ya❤

If her videos really do creep you out, or distract from the lyrics and musicality, her live performances of these songs are just as good - I love "Bury A Friend" and listen on CD in my car without a video and the song is still awesome - I think the video is excellent, creative, artistic and shows us the mind of a 17 yr. old generational artist. But the song hits without the video.
