I have two cats (and two conures, but this is about the cats ;)) who aren't allowed to go outside by themselves either, but I do take them outside with harnesses and a long, thin leash and they really enjoy it. They just need to get used to it. It's a new environment. A new parrot will need his time to adjust to his surroundings when you bring him to his new home for the first time. The same way, a cat needs to adjust to a new environment as well, so you should take things slow. Get them used to the harness first. Put it on for a minute, put it off, give a reward. The next day, you leave it on for a little longer and so on. Same thing with going outside. It's totally normal that they're a bit spooked when you take them outside for the first time. They'll hold their tail and whole body very close to the ground and might even refuse to move at all. Just let them adjust for a little, reward, and then increase the time they're actually out day by day. Give it a try! If your cat still acts like she doesn't wanna be outside after training with her for a few weeks, it might just not be her thing, but you really can't tell if she'll like it or not until you've actually tried to desensitize her to the new environment.

my parakeets are still new and are still getting used to my room where they hopefully soon with be flying around in! I still have lots of cleaning to do so that they are safe to fly in here, and I feel bad that I cant get them out sooner, but I'm going at their pace and thats all that matters for me! these videos make them happy and they perk up and watch them with me when I bring their cage closer to the screen! and funny fact about them, they love to bathe in their food bowls. i... their weird.

Marlene! You are the bird person, I'm the cat person :) Keep working on the harness. It takes time to get the cat used to it, but I agree, cat harnesses aren't great. The cat wants to be independent, they want to do their things by themselves and they make that known. My cat climbed a tree with her harness and leash on.. ooops. :)

Now THIS house looks like it has 10 parrots living in it. That's my floor every day and I only have 3 parrots. 10 would be EXHAUSTING. I don't know how you keep with the mess. the wood shavings and feathers alone are insane. Forget about the droppings... and crumbs... They are SO loving and funny though that they are worth it all!

So I moved to Tennessee from California, and every summer I go to Vegas to visit family. When I went this summer I had forgotten about the dry heat. The second the airport doors opened to the outside, I was blasted with 120° dry heat at 11pm. It was startling for a second.

I subscribed last night! I can’t wait to go visit my mom to show her your channel and your videos of Vinny with subtitles! She’s a bird fanatic/lover idk what to call her but she has like 10 birds and 2 of them are the big type of birds lmao I’m sorry idk what they’re called and the others are parakeets. So she has NO cage whatsoever and they roam the house free with a rainforest theme setting in her room so they can perch, feed and sleep there. I’ve hated going to her house before because the birds just like to talk over EVERYONE but after watching your videos I think I like them a little more and might try to love them a little lol

I adopted a parrotlet two days ago, and because of you the only time she spends in her cage is at night and while im not at home. I absolutely love the #engagednotcaged mentality, and its clear she does too. She's not quite comfortable enought with my house yet to explore and play around on her own, so she spends most of her time out on my shoulder, Which is fine with me lol😊. She Also tries to talk back to Vinnie when I have your videos playing 😂

We adopted a cockatiel who had been caged for 4 years, not out of maliciousness or neglect but because her owner was really afraid of what her cat would do to the bird. Regardless of how hard it was for her to give up her bird, she truly believed it was the best decision to make. We have three fibs, two cockatiels and 1 GCC (who is a terror but I love him). Sunny, the adoptee, is happy and out of her cage and enjoying more freedom. I'm so happy we said yes.
