Hey Joe, congrats on the new account! Word travels fast, yes even the good stuff...lol...& I'm sure business owners have great things to say about you. Some may not notice the small little things and attention to details, but seeing you sweep the small wood debris BACK into your truck instead of on to the ground of the customer speaks volumes! Well done my friend. 👍😀🍻

Beech is a very tough wood. It doesn't split easy. It is not stringy at all...just a tough, hard wood. Beech is between oak and maple in weight, closer to oak, has a hard, smooth bark almost like elephant hide. It is a nut tree and has a spicy aroma when you split it. Thanks for watching Jordan. You run an amazing firewood business. I'm so happy to hear you're growing pretty rapidly! I'll be here to keep watching the videos you pump out. I really like that Japa since you dont need to make another investment in a piece of equipment to put the logs on the processor. Smelling hickory and cherry is amazing. Especially on the first split. I walk by my piles once in a while just to take in all the smells. My cat also seems to love hickory and pine the most. He will follow me out to the woodlot and those are the stacks he seems to climb on the most.

Looking good my friend! Idk about you but there’s something about the smell of a processor hard at work.. essence of warm hydraulics/wood/engine fumes.😂😂 love the way you broadcast your videos joe. Thanks Greg! We are having huge storms today. Not getting much done. One of the things that Dyna of mine needed was the positive stop. I tried my best to eye ball the 16" against that stick but I fiddled with it, moving the log in and out, that it slowed me down. The positive stop is huge. I believe Dyna sells it as an option for some of the machines. Whatever the price it is worth it. It really speeds up your processing. Stay cool my friend! Joe

I like your definition of a large log being in the 9"-10" range. That 8 way wedge did make some uniform splits. It pays to adjust the wedge height to try and get the dead center of the log. Makes for a higher quality product.
@ohiowoodburner
@ohiowoodburner 4 жыл бұрын
Lol... that is the result of asking the loggers for small wood. The large logs obviously yield more but I can fly on the small stuff. I can make more and sell more! Believe it or not its difficult to eyeball the knife feom the control panel. I get a feel for it but I still miss dead center occasionally...lol Thanks for watching

Love the machine, but not sure if I'm ready to pay $90k for one. Might be looking at the 405, which is a little more in my range. If I end up getting one I'll have to start a channel and show case these machines, they are really great. Have a good one.

Thanks Honey Bee! That is the thing about processors. There is something for everyone out there. The way I calculated my ability to be profitable was to go small with my machine. Not only because of the entry price but because it required less support machines to make it work properly. The log lift was crucial for me. Regardless a processor will absolutely change your business for the better. I am totally sold on Japa... dynamite company and Metsa Machine is hands down the best dealer support I've ever had

Joe, This is meant to be a constructive comment: On this video, you have carefully loaded your PU for the delivery. Why don't you just load the truck loosely and measure the amount delivered after you have unloaded it. The customer could care less as long as he or she got the amount ordered. Just a thought.
@ohiowoodburner
@ohiowoodburner 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the insight James. It seems that many of the customers do not have a rack and will do the stacking themselves. That would make the qty a problem until they stack. Also I think a 1/2 cord wouldn't fit in my truck tossed in. Not sure bc I have never tried it lol! Lastly I have never tested this but I am certain unloading the truck like this is much easier than tossed in. I don't see the hand loading as a problem or time consuming. It is almost like a gift we are giving to someone. Joe

Hey Joe, how big of a chainsaw would you say would be equivalent to the saw on the Japa? It seems to cut really fast? I know it’s driven by hydraulics rather than a motor
@ohiowoodburner
@ohiowoodburner 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Adam! It's hard to say. Its a 15 inch bar but the motor seems to be very powerful. I have a dial that can control how fast the arm comes down. I don't know much about hydraulics but a friend of mine who does was looking the machine over and commented on the song motor saying that he knew it to be a top shelf unit. With a new chain it's a monster!

@ohiowoodburner
@ohiowoodburner 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe! I don't move a lot of hickory. My one account said they would rather the hickory be a little green. They have a smoker that has a gas flame so they don't require the wood to be bone dry to catch flame. My other guy likes it dry. He has an offset smoker and he doesn't want to mess with the fire when he's cooking. I have minimal hickory orders yearly and zero apple...which is good bc I have zero! lol. Joe
