Great video! 🙂 I'm already old and far along in computer programming career path (not your target audience), but there are so many times I wonder "What would things be like if I did it over again and got into cars instead of computers?". Kudos for giving back and helping steer interested folks the right way I'm just turning a wrench on weekends for fun and watching you/LegitStreetCars/others on KZbin. There are a lot of similarities with programming and working on cars. Once you understand the basics, having patience and good problem solving skills can take you the rest of the way. You captured it perfectly at the end- continuing your education every day. When you have a passion, it never ends 🙂

He needed money. Chances are you would be working a shit job for someone who hasn’t had a multiple teams to display a fantasy that isn’t real.

This video was almost more enjoyable then the regular "work Videos", I started below the bottom, LOL and worked hard in my industry, rising up to the level of regional manager, after I went through 5 owners and 9 management teams in 20 years, I was let go, in a cost saving measure. I saw the opportunity for a new independent to start up, I built a multi-million dollar business in 6 years (that's true). I will simply say, there is NOTHING, half as rewarding as building and running your own successful business, it FEEDS the soul. Better than Love, God or money. I am enjoying your presentations, and see the level of effort and care you put into your builds, and you are doing it with CARS no less, how better could it be? Thanks.

Your an awesome well informative guy. I have a 2011 bmw 328i xi with 250k and its a solid. Except a clunking when i accelerate coming from the trans area. Either a bad mount or from some research the u joint or bushings may be bad. As a diy guy I have some work ahead. ;)

Pick a car for the occasion when it arises. The Lambo or the Z3? I’m leaning toward the Lambo just because of things.

A take from the Bruce Lee quote -“Be formless. Shapeless. Like water. You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water, my friend.” Referring to the way we take on any automotive challenges that come in.

I was a gas and diesel master technician for 14 years. Im 100% glad Im out of the industry. Auto manufacturers are strangling technicians (unless you are fed by the managers).

And remember guys all the certifications/collage courses/training etc only gets you in the door, once you’re hired the real work begins, its long hard and tedious at times and to be honest the only thing that’ll get you through it is your passion and drive to succeed. Faking it will only get you so far, if you don’t love what you’re doing you’ll get nowhere fast.

What if he have no family mechanic background and you're in high school and I can barely read and spell and do math I And you are in a small town but you wanna race rise the ranks and I don't have much money to do projects or space

That’s exactly where he started, a fly by night school without any previous automotive knowledge or anyone to learn from in his family. Save your money so when you spend $30k on how to do an oil change that you can start a business before you even graduate and buy a magazine cover your teacher pretty much put together. All the makings of a shop that is better for photo ops than it is for service.
