In the end it turned out to be a bad battery. The video stands as how to remove and diagnose. I ordered the starter from a local shop. It didn't really have a "name brand". Sorry about that.

Hey having the exacting same problem with my '93. Still reading 12.4 V across the battery, was your battery still reading well with the starter?

David Sullivan it turned out to be a bad cell in the battery. It reads 12.4 but doesn't have current to turn the motor over.

Three hours into trying to get the top bolt to budge, no luck.

That's disappointing. Can I guess you sprayed it with PB Blaster or similar.? All I would suggest is a cheater bar and let torque be your friend. Do you have a hammer drill? That might work too. Good luck.
