Old Fashioned Tea Cookies

OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES
Ingredients
1 Stick of Butter
1 Cup of Sugar
2 Large Eggs
2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
2 1/2 Cups of White Lily All-Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Baking powder
1 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
1 Tsp of Ground Nutmeg
1 Tbsp of Milk
1 Tsp of Lemon Extract
Place in Fridge for 3-4 hours before baking

I have never made tea cakes, but I do plan on trying these, they look delicious. With that said, I love that you gave thanks to the Lord in heaven. When I was a child, coming in from school and smelling neck bones, red beans and rice, cabbage, and that sweet smell of sugar and nutmeg wafting through the house made me so happy. Maybe I’ll make some tea cakes for my boys Sunday. Thank you!!!

Sometimes, the simplest recipes are the best! I wish I had one (or two😘) to have with my coffee in the morning! I'm going to have to make a batch of these! I'm glad Mr. Eric is feeling a little better. Our God is a great and merciful God, isn't He!! Continued prayers for a speedy and complete recovery for Mr. Eric.

My mother use to make these for us growing up. These were so good. Back then we didn't have alot of sweets but when we did it was a treat to remember. They were so good that your tongue would slap your tonsils. These instant kids today probably wouldn't have a clue about them. Food and stuff back then was way better than this stuff today. All these insta pots, deep fryers, fry daddy's, air fryer's we didn't know not one thing about them. Every thing back then was way better than this stuff today. Even when my parents kill hogs that ham, sausage, liver pudding, pork chops were the best and when you cook some you could smell it for seem like miles away. This stuff today while you are cooking it you don't smell one thing. I truly miss those days. Blessing's to all that miss those days

Hi Mrs. Teresa. I have been looking for a good, old fashioned tea cake rescipe. I grew up in the country in Louisiana, and every Sunday we would go visit my grandfather's sister. She would have a white flour sack almost filled with tea cakes hanging on the door leading to the kitchen. I could almost smell them as you were baking them.
