@tomcatsdb47552 жыл бұрын
Did that w/ a dell optiplex. Many of the office PC proprietary PSUs don't have 6/8 pin PCIE power, so any card that can't be directly powered from the slot is a no go without changing it. The adapters are pretty cheap too.

PC specs: Ryzen 3 2200g Gigabyte a320m s2h 2x8 gb 2400mhz corsair Thanks in advance.
@TechDweeb2 жыл бұрын
With a 2200g you'll be running the 6500 xt with PCIe 3.0 bandwidth, so it won't perform as well. In most games you'll get a bit of a performance boost, in some games you'll take a performance hit. I'd stick with your 1650. HOWEVER, if you were planning on upgrading to a processor/platform that supported PCIe gen 4, then the 6500 xt would make sense because in that situation it'd perform significantly better than the 1650.

Still jealous about that case! I have better results in sottr and Witcher on a 3770k with an r9 380. With that great game sample of 2, I'm wondering if your oem 1050ti isn't really up to scratch, or if these games can actually really use 8 threads and there is plenty of performance on the table. You didn't want to upgrade the PSU because of the price, I guess? Fsr 2.0 came out for gow, are you considering a dedicated video? And, as always, love the video! And the shirt!
@TechDweeb2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be surprised if you get better performance on that setup. The 3770k is a much better processor than the 4570. And your R9 380 is better than the 1050 ti. Also I suspect that these Lenovo motherboards are the lowest tier of performance (like, sub H81). Yeah I didn't want to spend more on a PSU when the one that came with it is still working fine. Also I kinda like the look if it in this build, with that honeycomb vent on the front. Thanks for letting me know about FSR 2.0 in GoW! Yeah I should definitely do a video on that.

This video has inspired me to do a case swap on my old m910sf. Only question is does the m93 have the same motherboard as the m910sf? I want to use the same case that you have in the video and potentially a 1650 super.
@TechDweeb Жыл бұрын
Nice! I'm not sure about the M910 to be honest. I've never used that PC. Each of these PCs is different, if yours isn't a standard size motherboard (for example, mine was a standard matx size) then you'll have issues mounting the new motherboard in the case. The easiest way to know is to see if you can find videos or forums of other people doing a case swap with your exact pc.

It's totally possible, definitely, just make sure you buy a relatively modern PC with a good processor. It's probably cheaper than buying all the parts new, the problem is that most more modern office prebuilt PCs have proprietary cases and power supplies, so you're stuck with the original case.

I replied to your other comment but I'll reply here in case you don't see it. You can record using your CPU with that setup, but I personally would go for the 11400 non-f so that you could get encoding with the igpu and then you wouldn't be sacrificing anything. However, even with a 11400f, you can still use CPU encoding and as long as you are not CPU bottlenecked in the game you are playing then the performance will be just fine.
