You have to be careful with that. If you start thinking that every answer is the Front Leaning Rest Position, you might get caught with "assuming the commands" which leads to a whole world of problems. 99.9999% of the answers is the Front Leaning Rest Position...the thing is timing, like most everything else.

Went through basic at Ft. Jackson in 1980. Our company had one female platoon with a female DS. Our drill sergeant was definitely the toughest, but the female DS was just plain nasty and low down as all get out. We felt sorry for those women in her platoon and hated when she was put in charge of us temporarily. She had one h3ll of a chip on her shoulder and took out on everyone.

I was reclassing as an E-5 in Ft Lee. I asked this one female A.I.T student to wear her proper rank because she was out of uniform (one day she was a PFC the next she was a PVT). Long story short soldier told me "Why am I worried about it for it doesn't matter." To easy I told the female green suiter and in like 5 minutes the SSG called me in the room where a teary eyed PFC was apologizing. Don't know what she told her but....

There was no Female Drill Sergeants in Fort Knox Kentuky. When I was in Basic Training. It wasn't allowed during that era. I did BT in 1992. The only Women on Base was Doctors, Lawyers (JAG), Nurses, Food Administration, and Financial Corps... almost forgot Clergy or Chaplin Corps.

Sometimes I want to do the prior service thing just for an opportunity to mess with the Drill Sergeants. I loved messing with NCOs, even when I was with a NCO. Then I remember just how much time I spent standing around outside in crappy weather. This Drill gets the ol agree and amplify. Getting to old now, so paths not taken I suppose.
