It was so much fun playing in the 70's. I can't believe they don't even wear knee pads anymore.

The shout of "tipped ball!!!" was all every db waited for to commit the most heinous of demolition.

I played may last year of college ball in 1998. Back then there still weren’t concussions, just getting your bell rung, and at halftime the line for Doc to get your handful of pain pills and shots were ridiculous.

Need to let them play with out telling how hard they can hit … remember “ it’s not about how hard you hit ; it’s about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward “ -Rocky lol the the second part to this quote is most important. It made it more competitive between players. They don’t need to be micromanaged… also they know what they sign up for before being drafted to the NFL or even starting out . They prepare for this all their life to take these hits ok. So in my opinion, seeking out the Football occupation as a option out of college or making that decision early in life , just to say I didn’t expect this was how it was is nonsense and contradicting behavior in my book 😂

No, but you can watch how the WNBA treats Caitlin Clark and see it still today. ;-)

1970s they don’t get paid hardly nothing the way it is now They get paid so much money they shouldn’t even even have pads on and definitely not a helmet.

I agree they get paid good money and insurance. Let America get its balls back and the Men

Football has gotten so weak they don't even wear any pads in the pants anymore and shoulder pads are reduced to a couple of super thin pieces of plastic. It's basically flag football now days!!!

Wasn't it great

Maybe it’s a hot take but since they’re paid stupid amounts of money, we should see games like these today, I stopped watching football 4 years ago and I don’t regret a bit of it. I feel like it’s just lost that touch and the physical aspect has been gone for quite some time, the most physical it gets is in the trenches with the big guys🤷
