Old Sebilis - Enchanter Solo Dungeon Crawl - Everquest Project 1999

We dive into one of my favorite high end zones, Old Sebilis, today. This zone is a toughy but very fun. Soloing can be rough and our boss kills will be limited especially at lvl 55, but we dive as far as we can and attempt a few named enemies. Grouping here is very profitable and decent experience. There are some great drops like the Fungi Tunic and many others.

The stuff that went on at zone back in the day... A wiz, mage, and me trained Trak to zone once when a rival guild was at zone prepping to raid him. When they wiped we got down there and killed him.

Why are you even using calm and lull out of curiosity? Isn't pacify just all around better making it the play?

at the time I recorded this, pacify didn't have a 7 minute timer. it was the same length as calm but cost quite a bit more. It wasn't until they updated it a few years ago so pacify has the longer timer to make it worth the higher mana cost. If you check the newer Old Seb video, you'll see I use pacify as well.

@36:36 you say you need to get a rogue to pick the lock, that's not entirely true. I used to get in their with my necro. Cast manashield and the AC/HP buff, clear the front. Then by getting up to the door and crouching, you can target the golem on the other side of the door. Send the pet, back the pet off until the golem comes through the door, aggro the golem after you've backed up to the door and have the golem punch you through the door. once on the other side, run away a bit, FD and COS and away I went.

nice! I learned a trick as an enchanter on how to get passed all locked doors too. By using illusions back and forth, you can wiggle your way through. I think I showed if on a Howling Stones video. Nice to know about the necro method as well though.

noob question, what is the advantage/reason for casting gnome illusion as often as possible?

if you go into first person in gnome form, you can see through walls when you get right up to the wall. It's extremely helpful while crawling

This is fun to watch but as an enchanter trying to learn from you, it qould help as you cast stuff to declare what you are casting and why sometimes so I get your process. Just a request. I know its already fairly taxing but you seem so cool and under control, I freking panic

haha, i was the same way early in my enchanter journey. The heart rate explodes when things go hay wire lol. After you do it a thousand times though, the anxiety in those moments go away. I will try and explain mroe my casting as I do it. I try and do that in there, but often find myself focusing more so in the middle of the fight haha. Get good at stuns and mezzes... that's what saves your butt in bad situations.

Lol, yes! Love the vid, and I love moments like this in EQ...how we all decide to pronounce those imaginary words. It's cool how different servers I've been on always seemed to each have their own way that was most prevalent on that server. I've heard multiple ways people refer to SOW, KEI, abbreviations for zones and camps...always thought it was an interesting example of how social groups develop customs. But...hearing it pronounced that way was a shock to my EQ ears each time!

not sure how to fix honestly. it sits on my desk and it picks up all my clicks and movements. i don't have a stand or mount arm for it.

@@RektYou could probably purchase a velvet padding to put under it. Flat enough to hold it, and soft enough to cushion it. Sounds like the base rattles. Maybe 3m tape it to desk or fasten it somehow. ;) Good stuff though. Love enchanter.

depends on the situation or goal. I usually don't keep a pet with me long term until i get into a camp rotation. This was also early in my enchanter days so don't remember what i was doing here. check the Emperor Chottal video for more recent crawl of seb.

@@RektYou Such good memory's, me and the misses played Enchanter, Cleric combo, was so much fun. Haven't done p99 since max lvl 60 though i think. Mostly progression servers now days.
