I am personally not a big fan of rap or hip hop (I also can't tell you what the difference between the two is), but since you are interested in listening to both rap and metal, I also want to give you a couple more suggestions here, because there are some bands that have combined the two, and I think you may enjoy them. I am not sure if they were the first, but at least the first that I know of, was Anthrax, with their 1984 song I'm the man. In this song the roles of the different band members change, I may have mixed some up, but I believe it's the singer who goes on drums, the drummer goes on guitar, one of the guitarists takes the bass and the bassist and the other guitarist do the vocals. This song went around the world when Anthrax were invited to the British tv show Top of the Pops to 'perform' it. They were told they weren't allowed to perform it live and had to playback. They weren't happy with that, but decided to just have some fun and kept switching places throughout the performance, which resulted in a hilarious mess. An older song in which the two styles are combined is the 1975 song Walk this way, from the band Aerosmith. It was however not until 1986 that the hip hop group Run DMC made a cover of this, together with Aerosmith, that it really became a combination of hip hop and metal/hard rock. The original music video from the Run DMC version of that song is also definitely worth reacting to.
