Old mate! Greetings from a somewhat cold Shizuoka with a white Mount Fuji towering over us! Beautiful reaction! You are in love, ain't you? And you ought to be! When that pandemic leaves us alone (Omicron is finally on its way down, and very probably all restrictions will be lifted on March 6TH!), you had better get prepared for a lot of work with them as they are going to tour the US in summer, meaning there is a high probability of a new album before that! You can be sure I will be looking forward to your reactions! Best regards to you and your daughters! Robert-Gilles

This whole concert was truly amazing. 14 songs, and you wouldn't believe what incredible arrangements they came up with. It was an amazing Christmas present to the fans from our beloved ladies. 😍

Ever since they posted this on their channel I was thinking "I wonder if OSN will say that Misa looks like she is wearing a PJ". This is very random, but it's nice when random things come together.

The KZbin algorithm threw a Band-Maid video my way in late 2019 and my life has been better ever since. It has introduced me to the amazing work Japanese women are doing in the hard rock and metal scene, Band-Maid, Nemophila, Bridear and others are fantastic musicians my neighbours get to enjoy as well.

The whole Christmas Concert was superb, but I think you would like to know that they played a song, Forward, with Akane doing the cajon. She played over one La Rosa Sensation Flamenco Cajon and she was outstanding as ever. The concert is still available till 03/25 in zaiko web. This and many other surprises made that performace some of the very best things I´ve seen them do.

The 'feel' reminds me of the acoustic break in Paul Simon's concerts during the first few years after the Simon and Garfunkle break. The acoustic portions of those shows were almost as good as this. There is also a bit of a 'Stray Cat Strut' from their first USA tour vibe thrown in. ... ... must be the Misa/Miku connection. These ladies are wonderful!

Right from the start, we all knew the part that would break you down. Yes you had to replay that part. Ha!Ha! Tickets are still available if you want to watch the whole show. as BM 4-Life stated below. There are so many surprises in it. And also an extra full play of the show with the Maids talking over it. Like a bunch of giggling schoolgirls. Absolutely precious. But also informative.

I'll happily admit I had very wet eyes when I watched this concert , this band is f*cking fearless and the care and crafting that's gone into this, they could have just banged out the same song structures but no not Band Maid, hey let's "rewrite" a whole bunch of our tunes - 100 percent pure class. Thanks for the reaction, right time for a beer and more Band Maid , peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎤🎸🍻

I just watched the accoustic show and it's absolutly wonderful. If you're a Maidiac, it's a must see. Something comes out of this: I knew that Akane/Misa was one of the most solid rythm section I've ever heard, but now you can hear how Miku/Kanami works as well on the guitars, and Miku/Saiki are now perfect complement and unison on vocals. These Ladies are not only individualy talented but they go to another level when it comes to play together. Never seen a band like this. FYI: Misa is awesome on bass during this show and I too can watch her play all day long.
@nomusician47372 жыл бұрын
This is so damn good! I 100% agree with listening to Misa. She is like a fusion bassist in her creativity, but a 100% rock musician. It is hard to explain to non-musicians just how incredibly good she is. And Kanami playing that solo. It's not that the sound is clean on acoustic as you said. It also a LOT harder to play solos on acoustic guitars because of that. With compression and overdrive you can get away with a lot of mistakes that would sound horrible on acoustic. But for me more than anything, this is the vocalists performance. Saiki and Miku sings so damn good in this! Singing with acoustic instruments is, just as playing a solo, a lot more naked. You can hear so many more nuances than with the usual wall of sound. Of course they sing in pitch and so on, but what's really good is how they match both feeling and technique singing. It is almost First Aid Kit level of vocal harmonies and that is a HUGE compliment!

I did see this live concert when it happened. It was amazing. This song, Different, No God , I just would not have thought it possible to do some of these songs all acoustic. Watch it all if you can. Akane on a Cajon was awesome, and all 5 ladies actually sing in this one with Kanami, Misa and Akane all doing some backup singing on some songs.

I'm happy you paused and talked a bit about Miku. I look at her a lot in their videos and think, man, she must feel pretty pleased with what she started. And I think you're right - she had no idea this is where they'd be, years later. Genuinely one of the most heartwarming characters in music, and so strangely at odds with the rocking music they make.

Water bottles? MISA? Better check hers; it’s probably vodka. Joking aside, bands, especially bands from a country with a different culture and language often get labeled for their ‘schtick.’ (Domestic bands do as well; we’re just usually more familiar with them so we’re less overtly aware of their schticks. Band-Maid could, and likely was, dismissed by many as being just a ‘pop’ band and known for being all-girl and dressing up in maid costumes. After listening to a couple of their songs, it becomes so much more obvious that they are much more than their schtick. Sounding so good in an acoustic version just solidifies that fact.

From Japan BAND-MAID "Catharsis" is one of the 14 songs from the Christmas concert 75 minutes on December 25th. A 75-minute video of their comment is also included. They said in a comment that the new arrangement was become whole new songs and it took twice as long to prepare as a regular live performance. There is also an acoustic version of their latest fast hard rock. They do their best and keep improving the songs. It was an acoustic live that far exceeded expectations. Tickets until March 25th are on sale at their official HP.

I read somewhere that Saiki was so nervous about this performance that, before it started, she was sweating profusely. I remember watching this live, and I did get a sense that she was a bit nervous at first, but the more they got into it she was back to her normal cool-as-ice demeanor. And the whole show ended up being the usual perfect Band-Maid show.

With all her other accomplishments, Miku has become a very fine rhythm guitarist thanks to Kanami being such a great teacher. Not sure an acoustic concert as good as this was possible by the band before Miku became such a good player. Do we like Rock, Metal, Jazz Funk, Pop? Easier just to say we like Band Maid . They have it all.
