Haha I always say that too - however much I improve my editing and equipment, I can't change my voice. Great list! Harlequin was fun, swinging from platform to platform like Prince of Persia. So was Superfrog, although my cousin's school was attacked by a guy with a flamethrower and we couldn't play it after that without triggering her. Spent most of my days on Rainbow Islands, though.

Subscribed! The only thing I would change is actually getting a better microphone. I use something as simple as a Samson Go for around 40£ and a cheap 2£ pop-filter from ebay. If you use audacity, do noise reduction and normalize the track and you get a very natural sounding voice track. :) Your dialect and voice is great! It adds personality to the channel!

@@oldstylegaming huh, strange, those should be pretty good, right? I just felt like your voice sounded hollow and somewhat tinny (and I am sure it has nothing to do with your voice) Have you tried the -10db mode? If I use omni-directional on mine the sound becomes tinny, and slightly less so in the cardioid mode, but with the -10db mode and speaking very close to the mic (however not towards it, because that would bring a lot of pop-sounds to the recording.... talk past the mic instead, even if the volume is low on the recording this could be mitigated with normalization)... For better accoustics surround the mic setup with uneven surfaces and soft materials like pillow and towels, It works wonders on audio quality. :) Anyway. You have a great channel. nothing to worry about... that was basically the only thing that stuck out to me.

Great list. I should go back and play some of the games I missed. I played some of the greats like speedball 2, the Turrican series, Pinball Dreams/Fantasies, the Lotus racing games and sports games like sensible soccer but spent a lot of my time looking at demos and reading disk mags like LSD Grapevine. The amiga was great for so many things. Sadly once I started university I had to switch to a PC and didn’t have room to take my amiga with me. That was quite a step backwards in the early days of PC gaming.

Love the amiga but I also have fond memories of the Atari ST. I also remember “hacking” games on the ZX Spectrum to customize in game messages. I wish I was that ambitious at home now :)

Great video featuring some top notch games OSG, but I would deffo include another classic, Jim Power, it sounds and looks amazing with brilliant music, and like others you mentioned it can be a little infuriating too. But, that never stops you going back for more. Also there's another game I love to go back to now and again, but I can't for the life of me remember it's name lol. When I remember it I'll come back and change my comment 😂 Edit: The game I couldn't remember the name of was Woody's World, i've no idea why as I go back to it quite regularly :-D I must just be getting old and forgetful :-D It's a great platformer with great music by Blair Zuppicich, and lovely graphics, but it is a bit frustrating and i've never completed it yet, but i'll keep trying :-D

Non-subscribers making up the majority of your viewing is a great thing OSG! The subscriber count means very little and some of the most popular channels with millions of views per video have a much smaller number of subs. Think about it like this: if you want to grow then who do you need to appeal to, subscribers or non-subscribers? The answer is non-subscribers as that's the only way you'll get more people watching. Whether or not they subscribe isn't important because your videos will still show up on their feed and they'll watch.

There are so many great platformers on the Amiga, I don't think a top 20 could do all of them justice. I'd also add to the list the excellent conversions of Parasol Stars and B.C. Kid (Bonk's Adventure in the US) from the PC Engine. Not to mention James Pond II and Soccer Kid. Krusty's Fun House and Bubble and Squeak are very nice puzzle platformers. To be honest I tend not to consider run and gun platfomers like Turrican being part of the same genre with jump'n run games like, but I have to say that I have always found Amiga Turrican III to be better and more refined that Mega Turrican as far as playability is concerned (no fanboysm here, I don't think the Amiga is superior gaming machine to the Mega Drive, quite the opposite but there are exceptions).

I think I must be the only one who doesn't get on with turrican. Always feels like the screen scrolls to late and you just go face first into hidden enemies

Osg have you ever played in "Yo!Joe!" ?? This game easily destroys most of the games in this list. I would even say it's easy on top 5 or 3. Kickass soundtrack, good graphics and animations, even gameplay on 1 button joystick feels right. It is trully a master piece and hidden gem on the system. Give it a go. Cheers.

Aladdin, Lion King, Another World would be Top 3. New Zealand Story and Bubba and Stix would be Top 10. Chuck Rock would get in near the bottom. I really enjoyed Rainbow Islands, Prince of Persia and Lost Vikings too.

personally, i have no issues with your accent or voice, so i doubt that's an issue, i think ppl watch and not subscribe, just because they wanted to see that particular list and nothing else. admittedly that's how it was for me, but i stuck around because i like seeing another gamer's perspective on retro games, especially on consoles that i have zero experience with.

@Old Style Gaming huh, strange, those should be pretty good, right? I just felt like your voice sounded hollow and somewhat tinny (and I am sure it has nothing to do with your voice) Have you tried the -10db mode? If I use omni-directional on mine the sound becomes tinny, and slightly less so in the cardioid mode, but with the -10db mode and speaking very close to the mic (however not towards it, because that would bring a lot of pop-sounds to the recording.... talk past the mic instead, even if the volume is low on the recording this could be mitigated with normalization)... For better accoustics, surround the mic setup with uneven surfaces and soft materials like pillows and towels, It works wonders on audio quality. :) Anyway. You have a great channel. nothing to worry about... that was basically the only thing that stuck out to me.

i could comment on every game on this list, but that would make it a very long comment, so to keep it short, turrican 1,2, and 3 should be 1, 2 and 3 in the list, but 2 was the best and i am surprised not to see zool on the list, they wanted zool to be the amiga's answer to sonic, i thought it was a great game

Jesus, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your voice. Anyone who suggests otherwise needs their head examined. Great videos, I'm subscribing now. Note: I really don't get why Turrican and Ruff N' Tumble are counted as platform games. They're primarily run n' gun shooters.
