Most white people see all that she did. The profound part is having the desire to acknowledge the visceral reactions and allowing yourself to steep in it and not brushing it off. Props to this sister.

My late husband grew up in a all Poor black neighborhood and schools and the real world dawned on him when he moved to the suburbs and experienced entitled racist where his comfortability and ease with blaks and Mexicans was met with hostility and suspicion. Then his pictures of his kente cloth wearing black wife(me) on his desk ruffled feathers with whites and blacks. Welcome to texas! 😂😂 Iraq war broke out and we were against it. His family thought he was crazy. So my late husband was done with white folks and was at peace being a human being. A wonderful husband and father. Olivia reminds me of him except the optimism.

Only started on the job in October and this is the second time that this man the owner of this business have screened to the top of his lungs at me like a five-year-old child. One of the instances he screamed at me and said fix it the way I told you to fix it do you want to still work here or not. Me still knowing that he was instructing me to do the wrong thing putting the sauce in the wrong size container and the reason why I did it he could have care less so I said okay I'll start on the other job now and calmly walked over to the other area and said it loud enough for him to hear me look you guys when you run short I don't have a clue what ur going to do but I'm getting to do just what I've been instructed which is to start on this other job at the other workstation. When he heard me say that he started saying oh I'm sorry I didn't know whatever whatever he didn't bother to take the time to listen to what I was trying to tell him. Because he has the mentality that he owns the business and he's the overseer of me if you get my drift and I should just shut up and do as I say. 5 days later on the 16th of March which was my birthday he went off again so now if I see him telling me something wrong I'm going to do it and if it falls on him and he lose money behind it that's his business. Two young guys quit last month because they each whisper to me one day and said it was nice working with you but I have to find another job because if he yelled at me like this one more time I don't trust what I might do. And I do know that both of them have served time in juvenile detention but they was always respectful of me since I'm the grandmotherly type. I grew up with both parents and lots of family support aunts and uncles as well as grandparents wasn't rich but wasn't poor either. And it shows that I'm very secure in my skin and I think that's what bothers my quote unquote boss. He has this attitude like he's going to break me one way or the other. It would never happen in this lifetime and he can scream until hallelujah freeze over 👍🏿✌🏿
